Finally done! The kit is good, only the instructions were a bit unclear in case of decals, some were missing in the instructions. But overall, I enjoyed the build and I’m very happy to see it done :)

Hi, I would like to share my thougts on the new Commander Career mode with you, as well as reporting a major bug, which makes the game much less enjoyable for me.

First of all, I think the devs at 1CGS have done a great job with the whole game. I love the graphics, flight physics (although I have heard DCS is still better most of the time), and so on.

The career mode is really something we have all been waiting for, since it is the main game mode in IL2 Korea. The option to manage your whole squadron, men, aircraft, is just great. But not only that, I also find really fun to manage recources and planning missions not to waste them and use them efficiently. It is for sure done much much better than in Great Battles.

But there is one Big BUT I have encountered: Planes are just disapearing from the squadron mananement section. It usually happenes after a mission where a plane has been lost or damaged. It does not happen always, thankfully. In picture 2 and 3, you can see that all my planes are currently operable and ready to fly and not unassigned. The menu shows both "ready for takeoff" and "total number" is 24. But you can also see that there are two slots free and no planes with pilots are asigned to "section 12". That means I have a total of 22 aircraft. On picture 1, the main menu, it shows the correct numbers and even shows the two aircraft are not there. Picture 4 shows the recources management menu, where, on the contrary, it shows 24 aircaft are in my inventory, therefore it is impossible to "order" any aircraft, therefor I am stuck with 22 aircraft for the whole duration of the career. Even worse, I played a little more, and another 1 has disapeared.

The way it happenes is either when I "deactivate" a wounded pilot with a damaged airplane (separating them) and after I reopen the sq. management the plane is missing, or when I open the sq. management for the first time after a mission, it separates two pilots from their planes, but only one plane is shown. In the second case, both the pilots and the plane are still in the "Combat units in service" section, but separately.

I find it very frustrating, even though everything else works just fine. Has anyone encountered the same issue? If yes, have you managed to fix it?

The model has been quite good, nice fit (except the cockpit doors).

A kit I found in my grandfather’s stash, so I decided to try it out. It was made in USSR, I’d say around 50 yrs ago. No decals or paint instructions were included, so I made my own. I didn’t really want to spend much time building it and only wanted to try out a few things. For ex. I made my own antenna string for the first time. The stand is 3D printed.

For its age, it went very well together! Building it was easy and fun. I even costumised the cockpit a bit and added a custom gunsight. Only the decals were quite a pain, specifically the red stripe and the blue lightning. I plan building their F-86F Sabre, also a 1979 kit, after this experience. The paint scheme is the Norwegian Air Force. All hand painted.
