What’s your special interest or passion?

Mine is football(soccer), with a huge focus on New Zealand Football - have a quite large collection of memorabilia, signed shirts etc….

Can’t wait for the World Cup.

What’s everyone using for AV/Malware that’s free.

As per above, Win 11 OS.

I’m assuming Windows Defender is probably good enough these days?

Injustice Sensitivity

I know injustice sensitivity is prevalent with ADHD, I feel like maybe adding autism into the mix amplifies it?

I just get so emotional with any perceived injustice I see.

Is this NZs best era re football to date?

Auckland FC in Men’s Grand Final.

Phoenix in Women’s Grand Final.

While above are professional teams and obviously not all kiwis, still I think a reflection of the growth/popularity of football in NZ.

The All Whites I feel have a very strong squad re WC, as strong as 2010, not 100% sure, stronger in some areas, weaker in others possibly.

I definitely feel the AWs can get a win and possibly progress from group stage, obviously the 8 best 3rd placed spots helps in this regard re extra teams.

Guanfacine for emotional regulation.

Hi there

So I found a GP who is a specialist in ADHD, supposedly he has AuDHD himself.

He prescribed me guanfacine to help me regulate emotion’s.

I’m on Concerta currently for my ADHD.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it?

Did it help with regulating emotions at all?

When does medical/life insurance become unaffordable?

I’m getting older, hence my medical and life premiums are getting more expensive.

Is there any sort of formula to figure out when it’s better to stop paying and invest that money instead?

Does anyone else have a cycle?

So I have a pretty consistent cycle, whereby I have my shit reasonably well together, can handle work ok(just ok), can do some social stuff, feel reasonably balanced and positive.

However usually every month or so, I just get so overwhelmed I pretty much shutdown, withdraw and need 2-3 days of pretty much complete social isolation and lots of sleeping to recover.

I’m just coming out of one of these down points now.

Can anyone else relate?

Were those with ADHD likely to be outcasts in ancient civilizations?

Just a thought, we most likely wouldn’t follow the rules, we would question authority most likely and do and say random things.

That sounds like a sure fire way to me to get ostracized.

I’ve read articles saying back before the industrial age we would have fit in better, I’m not so sure.

I guess in medieval times we might get a shot at being the court jester?

Liam has distanced himself from this song.

Personally I quite like the track, having said that the rohypnol lyric I’m not a fan of.

Do you think he distanced himself re the rohypnol or he really hates this track?

Not sure if this is specifically Audhd related or due to something else, but thought I’d see what the consensus is here :)

I’ve been told a couple of times, by my ex and current partner that I always try to see the best in people.

I know I do it, Im not sure why though, even if someone has been absolutely abhorrent to me or even bullied me, I actually more feel sorry for them that they are so bitter and surmise they must of had a terrible childhood or something traumatic to make them like that.

So this obviously is quite dangerous in the sense that in the past I’ve given people benefit of the doubt re obvious red flags.

These days, even though I still try to see the best in people, if I get a bad vibe from someone new I meet, I will not engage with them unless completely necessary, for people I have to engage with, I will set boundaries and grey rock if I feel they are trying to manipulate me.

Anyone else relate?

Latest purchase off TradeMe for my collection.

If anyone has any All Whites unique memorabilia they are looking to sell, let me know :)

Diagnosed ADHD but realise I have loads of autism traits also that generally don’t fit just ADHD diagnosis.

I thought being a minimalist may be an ADHD coping mechanism which it could be too, but also an autism coping mechanism too.

From Google:

Minimalism acts as a powerful coping mechanism for many autistic individuals by reducing sensory overload, clutter-induced stress, and cognitive load.

This is exactly why I hate clutter as it overwhelms me.

It's a full time role for me, personally I really enjoy trying to keep the backups as close to 100% as I can, guess its like a game for me.

Also being able to recover servers when the shit hits the fan is quite invigorating.

Not saying it can't be frustrasting at times though.
