Functional Watch Winder V2

This is version 2 of my 3d printable functional watch winder. I made version 1 a while ago after needing one, and not wanting to spent a ton of money on a fancy wooden one (I just needed a display case for my watch that would keep it wound). After having version 1 for a while, I realized some aspects needed to be improved, mainly the top lid with the glass pain as this was really tricky to glue on properly. But also, the speed controller would slide around sometimes making it inconvenient to turn on and off. So, over the past month i’ve redesigned and improved the watch winder making it basically flawless! It no longer has any issues with assembly, usability or functionality and I managed to keep that clean, stylish look of version 1. Overall, I am super happy with how Version 2 turned out, and it looks like I won’t be needing a version three:)

3D printable Watch Winder

I needed a watch winder, but after looking around I could not justify spending hundreds on one. So I thought it would be a fun project to see if I could make one myself instead. It took a lot of trial and error, but I got there in the end and im very happy with how it turned out, works perfectly as intended and it nicely displays the watch.

This is exactly what I needed!

After sharing my motorized 3D printed projects, a lot of people have been asking me how I learned all the electronics behind them and where to get started. The truth is, for me personally, it took a lot of trial and error because the information was scattered across dozens of websites, but once I read the right thing and understood what was going on I realized it is fairly simple. I then though it should not have been this complicated so I decided to put together a short PDF Guide containing everything you need to know in order to motorize your models. It's a quick read, completely free, that you can find on my website. Thought this to be a much better solution that email people 20 different links of videos and websites I used to learn. Hope this helps someone who is looking exactly for this, just as I was two years ago.

After going out plane spotting so many times I wanted something I could in my room. So I did some research and found out I could actually make my own model and learn a lot along the way. I already had a 3d printer so I thought this would be a perfect project for me. I took me about a week with all the modifications I did, to make it actually spin, but it was all worth it as now I have a realistic turboFan engine model that works in my bedroom.

I think I accidentally went down a rabbit hole of “premium” lighters and now I can’t tell if they’re actually worth it or just overpriced.

Some of these look insanely satisfying though (like the plasma/electric ones).

Has anyone here actually bought one of these? Do they last or is it just a gimmick?

I found a site with a bunch of them and there’s a $10 discount which makes the cheaper ones kinda tempting, but I’m still on the fence.

DIY upgraded jet engine. I have been working on this project for a while now and after two weeks I can finally say that it's complete! Used a few hardware parts and designed some 3d printable parts to hold said hardware parts in place. Now I have a functional jet engine model.
