Experience with a senior collie?

Hi all! I am potentially adopting a senior collie (age 9). She was well loved throughout her life but her owner sadly passed away. I'm told she is on medication for arthritis.

I was wondering what your experiences are with collies in their final years? Do they still like to go on walks or mostly just rest at home/in the yard?

I'm told long grooming sessions might be hard for her unless the groomer can give her rest breaks. Is there a simpler type of haircut she could get that is quicker and easier to maintain? Going for comfort over looks in this case.

Any other thoughts or tips you might have would be greatly appreciated.
