Starry Night genetic mutation / when to harvest? Leave it alone?

I’m guessing I should read up on the enigma process. Any advice? Thinking I should just let it do its thing for a while.

What’s with this type of growth?

Starry Night, other bin has more typical looking fruit with dark caps. Genetic mutation? Still ok?

Starry Night - super slow?

What’s been the typical timeline for people with Starry Night? It’s been 6 weeks since introducing fruiting conditions, and maybe 2 weeks since pins formed, tiny fruits developing very slowly.

What’s been other people’s timing from pinning to harvest? I know APEs are said to take their time, but this one has taken almost 2.5 times longer than Yeti.

In over my head - This is not what it looked like on youtube

Thought I would replace an old leaky bathroom faucet myself, but on closer inspection this might be way over my head. First off couldn’t turn the valves to shut off the water, then looked at the connection to the current faucet and it looks like the water supply lines should be replaced too. Copper, maybe soldered and need to be cut to be replaced? Should I call a plumber?

I’ve read through previous posts here where people have said that Evolve rat birth control is ineffective but want to outline here all the methods I’m trying to deal with a major rat problem on my city block.

My neighbor directly next door has trapped over 30 rats inside of their house. No signs of them inside my house - yet. I’ve called the city multiple times to treat any visible burrows I’ve spotted in the alley out back. They use a tracking powder in the burrows. My neighbor on the other side of me has also been calling the city. Rats chewed thru the electrical wiring in the car they had parked in the alley.

In addition to calling the city, clearing out detritus from my backyard, checking for any obvious pathways and gaps to seal with hardware cloth I also just purchased the Vulcan rat bucket lid (currently set in feeding mode before putting into trapping mode), have started putting Evolve rat birth control out in high traffic areas and am trying to stop the rats from nibbling on my potted shrubs and perennials (not growing anything to eat back there) with cayenne powder.

What else can I do?

My block is dealing with a major rat problem on the alley side of our homes. What measures have people taken to deal with this? I’ve had people from the city’s Rat Rubout program out a couple of times to treat any visible burrows, have been clearing as many things as possible from the backyard and have been sprinkling cayenne pepper in my potted plants to try to keep the rats from nibbling on them (shrubs and perennials, no vegetables or fruits).

I just ordered pellets of Evolve, basically cottonseed oil that affects the rats ability to reproduce (temporarily) and over time should reduce the population. Supposedly reduced secondary poisoning with this and no bait aversion since the effects are not perceptible to the rats.

Suggestions?
