Apartments and pins…

Does anybody else hate apartment orders? Last night I did an order where I had to deliver to an apartment with the room being at the top floor (I don’t mind but I know a lot of drivers probably wouldn’t like that lol) and it was raining… I got the the apartment and guess what, it was locked and I needed a pin so I texted the customer, no answer. Waited a few minutes, no answer. I wasn’t gonna stand here in the rain with their food, wasting my time so I left it by the door and bypassed the pin. Their food might’ve gotten a little drizzle but I hope they understood it from my perspective

Should I stay?

So they’re calling me back from being laid off to start driving as a rtd/tcd. On the phone the guy scheduled me for x date but I asked if we can move it to another day and after him talking to his manager it was moved to the week after. When I asked that he paused and asked me if I can work everyday lol so I lied and said yes. Yall expect me to stay home during an indefinite layoff and not find another job??? I wanna take my new job more seriously since I just started and the hours are more stable but ups has better money. Should I try to do both or just stick with the new job because I’m lowest seniority in the building so idk if they’ll let me do enough work and I don’t know if they’ll even let me pass my 30 day packet. Preload times work better for me but they might lay me off again. At least during this layoff my seniority is growing…

Coming back

So I was laid off and I’m just about to start another job until ups called me to come back as a reg temp driver (I’m a preloader and I’m laid off but I passed integrad). They told me to come on the 26th to start driving around with the supervisor (I think that’s the 30 day packet thing people talk about??). My main question is how often will I be driving because I know ups will tell you one thing but want something else. And how often am I required to drive? Like can I drive twice a week or something? Will I start doing 30 eleven hour shifts for my 30 day packet thing? Or will some days be me on preload with no driving? Also when I go back, the first thing I’m going to do is find the steward to file a grievance on not being paid for integrad. I know that might put a target on my back but how much of a target? Will they dq me on purpose? Lol

Orientation

So I have orientation in a few days for freezer cooler, didn’t know it was gonna be for 2 days in a row instead of just 1 day but my question is what should I expect? I told the coach in my interview that I’m looking for closer to 40 hours but I have a second job that called me back and I’m gonna be really occupied over there working like 11 hours a day… I noticed that on the job offer it said flex instead of full time so my second question is can anyone tell me what flex is about? Im only able to do midday to evenings. That other job I start back on the 26th and their flexibility is almost nonexistent so does Sam’s Flex Time live up to its name? In the orientation can I tell them something came up and I’d like 25 hours instead? Do you get a set schedule or does your manager give u a random schedule every week? If I know when my off days are that would help a ton and would help even more if it’s the same day(s) every week. How long is the probation period if there one? Can I change my desired hours later, if yes, how soon later?

2 strikes in 2 days, am I going to get deactivated?

So yesterday I got a strike for a mc Donald’s order, the customer marked it as wrong order but I know it had the right name, obviously I couldn’t check in the bag to see if they got everything cz the bag was sealed but I took a picture of the label with their name on it. If it was the wrong name then I think DoorDash would’ve stopped me there right??? Which brings me to the 2nd strike.. This one was from a local food place. It had a gifter name and an order name. (I’m assuming someone is buying the food for someone else) the order name was the correct order I got with the exact items listed on the receipt label thing and I made sure to double check that because DoorDash stopped me and asked if I’m sure it’s the right order and after checking everything to make sure it matched, yes it was the right order but the customer marked it as wrong order… something these 2 orders have in common is they’re both low pay and no tip orders (I accepted because I’m doing earn by time to get my ar up because I want platinum). I submitted dispute requests for both and they’re pending right now but is this just bad luck or am I doing something wrong here…

Interview tomorrow

I have an interview tomorrow for freezer cooler deli stocker, is there anything I need to know like dress code, how the position is in terms of stress, etc etc. I’m hoping for part time but I don’t mind doing full time hours, I want to leave my current job but I can mainly do midday-evening shifts
