PS3 Okami HD

Is the PS3 HD version playable in the US in English? I see it had a Japan region code and I don't know what that means. Will it work on my US console?

My PS3 is not backwards compatible, fml, and I really want to play my favorite game again.

Twisting for charity

I'm trying to figure out the appropriate way of handling events for charities or community organizations.

I don't feel right charging hourly for an organization that does amazing and important work in my community. I'm more than happy to set up and work for tips and I've done a charity event before on full volunteer basis.

My question is:

Is it unreasonable to charge a set-up fee for this kind of event with the understanding I'll be accepting tips? (I was thinking maybe $50?)

How do y'all handle charity events?

Getting myself out there and in front of more people is beneficial for my future work regardless what I charge.

I'm just starting to twist with an audience and can do single balloon designs really well, but I also have no idea what I would charge hourly for a private event if someone hired me. There aren't a lot of people who twist balloons in my city, all I see are people who do balloon arches, so I don't have a good point of reference. I know I have a ways to go before I'm at the level of people I see online in other cities.

Every cop in the city is on N Villere St

N Villere from Gov Nicholas to Esplanade is blocked off with every cop car at the scene. Seriously, I saw like 20 cars.

Adjust your route home if you usually go this way. I think that block of Esplanade headed towards the river is also closed.

Felt portrait advice

I want to start making needle felt portraits and have a few questions.

For the backing i was leaning towards 100% wool felt. Is this what you'd recommend or would you suggest something else? I plan to make things to go in frames and think I want a stiffer material than linen, but I have no experience with this so please lmk your thoughts!

Do y'all have any general tips or tricks you'd tell someone just starting to make felt portraits?

Also, has anyone needle felted on printed pure wool felt? Does it work? I have some really cool project ideas.

Thanks!

I had my first event, it took a lot to get here!

I finally had my first event and there was a moment I thought it would never happen!

(And that's a Waterloo in the pic, it was 95° lol)

I've been twisting just for funsies for 20 years, about a year ago I started working on putting things together to do it as a side gig. However, in December I had a major set back. I was mauled by a dog and my forearms were severely injured; my tendons we're exposed but luckily not torn. I fully lost use of my left hand for a couple months, which is super unfortunate for a creative person.. Thankfully after months of very painful hard work in OT my tendons recovered enough to do all my normal things including twisting balloons again!

This event was a free community event for low-income families. There was a backpack giveaway, face painting, free food, lots of other organizations, and then me. It was a massive success; I made balloons for 2.5 hours nonstop and due to the nature of the event I didn't take any payment. It was great seeing how happy the kids were but it was utter chaos at times, some things were learned!! I was also worried the kids would notice all my scars and ask about them, since there's no hiding them, but I'm grateful they didn't because I'm not sure how to answer that question. Do I answer honestly and potentially make them nervous around dogs or do I try to change the subject? Who knows!

Next time I think I'm going to provide tickets to the welcome table so the kids know they only get one balloon per ticket. I think a system like that would help tame the chaos. Thoughts?

TLDR: even though I faced a terrible injury, I was able to persevere and finally do the thing I've been working so hard towards!

Also fun fact: this entire set up folds down and fits on my Vespa 🛵💖

For more experienced people: do you have any advice or suggestions for someone just starting to do events? I've got the balloon part down, but wrangling children is a whole other skill set! I don't want to come off as rude but also I'd love for the kids to not grab all my things yknow?

Tying ideas for bucket hat- 2 colors

Hey y'all, I don't have a lot of experience with tie dye but I have a bucket hat and two UV shifting colors I want to try.

Any suggestions on the best way to tie the hat when only using 2 colors?

Everything I've found as an example uses 3 or more colors.

[PS1][90s] Weird game with a pink naked chubby character, not Gaurdians Crusade.

I vaguely remember a really weird game that had a pink bipedial character that had a round belly. I only have flashes of a memory and it's been bugging me.

I remember it being a really weird game, possibly dystopian or at least had visually dark areas, and the pink character spoke and was kind of clumsy? The pink guy was someone the player interacted with often, I think.

I know this isn't a lot to work off of but somebody should know what it is, right?
