I bought an extra of this mainline GT40 with the intent to try custom techniques. The first I wanted to try was to remove the gumball decals. I left the 4 but I will see if those stay. I am thinking a clean car with just the silver HW logo would look best. The casting is meh, and the paint is quite poor, so this may be the first one I strip, clean up, and try zinc plating on as well.

I will hold on the wheel swap to see if I want to take it down to metal or repaint. So its a project in work...

So I ended up going back and found a few more interesting ones that I missed on the first pass. Then on the way home I stopped at hobby lobby and dollar tree. Pretty happy with the finds.

Visited a die cast shop in town. Found some really cool ones for the collection.

Side by side with the standard version. The base is white as well. I did buy it, but I dont collect slot cars so im open to sell or trade. I really like this paint scheme and the 70s 240 is a great looking body style.

Seriously, the whole wall was filled with these two! Picture doesnt do it justice but at least 80% on these section were these two cars and more were on the main side too.

Continuing my collection of Shelby designed cars. I have never seen these two - green and grey ones - before today.

Went to Hobby Lobby this morning and found my first white lightning. I collect shelby cars so this is perfect. I hope they make an ultra red of this set too. I have the blue and the chrome already.

My son put these on the table while I ate breakfast. Couldn't resist the share. Ever orange car is "daddy's" lol but at least he put his 86's on there.

...is how long it took ne to reach 10,001 miles today on my daily driver. I travel for work so the daily was more like weekends.

I have been looking for this Aero custom WW2 style Nova for so long.... finally found it at CVS when we went for some cold medicine. Earlier we were at Ross and Marshall's where I found the Porsche set.

I found these two that I hadn't seen before. But when I wrnt up front the cashier said "what's with everyone buying these cars today?". These were the last two and this corvette set has damaged plastic. I am sure there were others from the set before I arrived late at store closing.

First I found this new set at Target. Then the next morning this sweet "familiar looking" Maserati passed by.

There are two here at B&N, but im torn. I dont really collect pantones, but i did buy the Nissan already and I love that Porsche 934

They had the Supra as well but I decided to pass. If it was painted better id have gotten it too. But this Porsche is sweet.

The lighting was too good not to get a few pics. Shout out to the guys at Discount Tire for knocking it out for me.
