My 1992 Schwinn Crosspoint
I picked up this rocking bike late summer last year as an intact frame with surface rust and all original but beat-to hell components. Seemed like it had been ridden hard by the original owner until he managed to bust the rear derailleur, then left in a barn for a few decades.
It was a good score for $50 though. I cleaned up the rust and used some similar-enough nail polish to cover those spots. Built up with new or nice used components and it’s gone through a few iterations since then. The True Temper double butted chromo frame is a great platform with a really nice ride quality.
Current build:
Nitto / Rivendell Albastache bars
Nitto Technomic Deluxe 70mm quill stem
Shimano Dura-Ace bar end shifters
Shimano BL-R400 Brake Levers
Velo Orange Grand Cru 165mm crankset 46/30
Microshift Sword Black front derailleur
Shimano Acera M3020 rear derailleur
11-36 9 speed Shimano cassette
Tektro RX1 mini-v brakes
MKS Grip Monarch pedals
700c Velocity A23 Rims laced to Ultegra hubs
Panaracer Gravelking 38mm slicks
Brooks B17 saddle
Carradice saddle bag
I missed FEF, so how about Schwinn Schaturday?
Swapped out my flat bar cockpit (Nitto 90-190 stem, VO Seine bars, Dia Compe brake levers and thumbies) for Riv / Nitto Albastache bars, technomic deluxe stem, Shimano Dura Ace bar end shifters and BL-R400 brake levers. Still tweaking the height and roll of the bars to get it just right, but really enjoying the vastly different ride feel.
Happy Saturday and happy riding. I’m just getting some pedal time in this morning before it gets hot. Cheers.

Offering: Behmor coffee roaster
UPDATE: it has been claimed and gone to a new home!
I got into roasting back during Covid but haven’t done it in the last year or so as life’s gotten busy and some things have fallen to the wayside. If you’re interested in picking up the hobby, give this roaster a home. Comes with instruction book and a bunch of unroasted coffee beans. They’re not the absolute freshest but should be ok and a great way to get started.
Pickup in SE by Mt Tabor.
Hope you all get out there today! I did a little sunrise loop consisting of SE neighborhoods along the Lincoln and Clinton greenways, the Springwater, and the 205 MUP. A great way to start the day before the rest of my family woke up, and to confirm that cutting 30mm of the ends of my handlebars yesterday was the right choice.
