Graphic Designer and Photographer job hunt.

Hello there, I’ve been really been struggling to find any part-time or full-time positions in graphic design or Photography. I really want to work in the sports career as it’s a dream of mine, I am located in Chicago, got my bachelors degree in Graphic design from Depaul University. My portfolio is catered towards sports. I also have a portfolio outside of sports which is completely separate and filled with everyday a graphic design. I’ve been applying to some positions with the bulls, Blackhawks Chicago Fire, colleges, and high schools, but have not been accepted. I I have photographed a bunch of teams for free such as the Chicago White Sox, Windy City bulls, Depaul, basketball, Chicago wolves, and more. If anyone has any tips or leads please let me know. I know the full Adobe suite, creating mockups, editing photos, social media, print, some animation and more. I will leave a link to my sports portfolio down below. Let me know any thoughts or suggestions you have any improvements I could make I really appreciate it. PORTFOLIO

Which MacPro should I get?

Hello, I’m currently looking to upgrade/downgrade my Mac. I have the M4 MacBook Air, 16gb Ram, 256 gb. Overall the laptop is very powerful but I’m running into issues with storage and a lack of ports. For context I do graphic design, photography, and videography. So I’m constantly transferring files and using adobe suite. I think a MacPro would help with that. I’m looking to get something used and already saw a few good deals. But I’m just wondering how much of a difference the M1-M3 Pro are from the M4 Air, would I notice a difference in performance? For example, if I get a M1 chip, but it has more ram than the laptop I have right now, would that be better or worse? The main things for sure would be storage, ports, and performance. Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments about performance!

Which Mac?

Hello, I’m looking on getting a new Mac but not sure which one. I currently have the MacBook M4 Air which is a amazing laptop. Performance is good but I am running out of storage and there is a lack of ports. For context I do graphic design, photography, and videography. I think additional ports and storage would be a great advantage. I use a adapter to to transfer my files which slows down speeds. I’m looking at a Mac pro for the additional ports, most definitely looking for a used one. I’m just wondering how much of a difference a M1 Pro is compared to the M4 Air. Would I notice it? Any recommendations would be helpful looking for M1-M4 Pro, seen a few good deals on fb. But I genuinely have no idea if a old M chip would be that much of a difference performance wise. I found a M1 16 gb 1TB for $750 which seems good to me. Has the same amount of ram as my M4 air and 4x the storage. Let me know!

I honestly just need to do a whole rant so here I go. I feel like since high school nothing in my life has gone well. I got 2 1/2 years taken away from me because of Covid, which I feel like really messed up my whole perception of everything. In college there was still some Covid restrictions, but not too bad. I know the job market is horrible in my senior year of college so I start applying for positions very early. Luckily I got an internship right after I graduate. I do the internship and eventually they hire me full-time in which I worked full-time for about half a month and then they let me go because they said they didn’t have the budget, time to start looking for a new job which feels impossible because of how bad the job market is. AI reviews my resume before a person actually even looks at it. Countless ghost jobs countless fake job postings and spam. I have done multiple interviews and gotten completely ghosted afterward and done Follow up emails and calls to which none have responded. Even did an interview for position and at the end of the interview was told they weren’t hiring. Made it to the final rounds of my dream job, got rejected after three months of interviewing and doing a project. Been unemployed for seven months now and still can’t even find a part-time position in retail because I’m getting ghosted. I would love to have an apartment but rent is ridiculous. I live in Chicago, which I know is a big city, but it’s where I grew up. minimum rent for one bedroom apartment is $1400 plus you have to make three times that on a monthly basis and then also $75 application fees per person, nonrefundable deposit move-in fees per person background checks that you had to pay for and a bunch of scams. I’m trying my best to stay positive, but I feel like it’s just so bad. And of course Donald Trump is president again which is horrible. I can’t believe he’s been my president two times in my life. I hate that houses are unfordable, jobs are unattainable rent will take all of your money. Politics are horrible gas in the city is $5.99 and on top of that AI is ruining the environment. Just feel horrible overall, I can feel my mental health getting worse and worse and I just don’t know what to do anymore. And on top of that just life as a whole is expensive. Corporations are greedy, food at grocery stores are fake. Every single thing cost money nothing is cheap. I am honestly getting so stressed out and sick of everything and just of how fucked up everything is not just for me but for everyone politics, ice, money, economy, environment, food, affordability, housing all of it is literally horrible. please someone leave a comment or respond to this message if you relate in anyway. I’m 22 years old and feel lost and pointless and just so frustrated
