Best strategy to find Indian flatmates in London as house share?

Hi, I’m 24 M planning to move to London in the 1st week of December(odd time I know since many will go back to India for vacation). I have been using SpareRoom and RightMove for hunting(not actively hunting since I’ll be moving in a bit later than usual) to find HouseShares available. I wanted to know how did you find fellow flatmates since that’ll be the most comfortable for someone like me moving to a new city for the first time and easy to become friends with. I wouldn’t want to commute to central London from surrounding towns and would much rather stay in and around. What worked for you?

Switching from a small company as a mid level engineer, does it happen often?

Hi, I’m currently considering an offer from a small org (around 120 people) as a mid level software engineer. Personally I think it’ll be great for my overall development as an engineer and I’m gonna learn a lot - which is great. My current company is a large bank and while I have learnt a ton, it has kind of plateaued and a lot of bureaucracy. Now while I do want to take this new opportunity, I do worry about what future opportunities might look like. If I want to switch back into a big org or a high growth startup, do recruiters/interviewers look at a non-sexy company in my resume and think “this person is not worth my time” or is it truly more about what kind of experience I have portrayed on my resume?

I do plan to at least spend a couple of years which will put me at a mid-senior stage

Asking this from an EU and UK perspective.

Completed the SWE interview loop of Revolut and was told that I’ll have an update the very next day but nothing

My interviewer from the team fit round said that he’ll fill the feedback immediately and recruiter should get back to me the next day. But another day has passed and nothing and I even sent them a kind follow up.

Do recruiters go through some approvals before reaching out or should I take this as a no? I know some people have had absurd 1 year delays and i hope it doesn’t even go there. If it’s a No, I want to know asap instead of this being dragged out. How long does it typically take for a response?

Can Junior SWE salary be negotiated for Revolut

I’m at the final stages of my revolut process; I was Downgraded from mid level to junior as per interview feedback. It sucks but I don’t have a choice

I wanted to know if revolut allows junior engineer candidates to negotiate and if so what is the pay range? I have 2 YOE and graduated in 2024 (international)

I hope I’ll get a good jump above graduate salary and still below mid level

Revolut System Design round - mid level SWE expectations?

Hey I have a system design interview coming up with Revolut and wanted to ask what has been asked in the past so that I can start studying those first before moving on to generic tests

Revolut interviewees - how long did the recruiter take to get back to you after the coding round? I don’t understand the silence

I’m interviewing for a mid level role and finished my coding round a couple of days ago. My interviewer has never replied to any email from me (even before the recruiter screen). I don’t understand why it’s so hard to just email “yes” or “no”, what’s the point of not giving an update. Folks who have interviewed with Revolut, how long did it take for the recruiter to get back with an update?

UPDATE:
This Reddit post worked, I got a reply from the recruiter🙌

Amazon SDE2 OA - Dublin Experience

Applied June 26 and got OA on 21st Aug lol. Weirdly the OA invitation doesn't mention who is the recruiter or which Job ID, just generic assessment letter. I have 9 submitted jobs on the career portal and one of them has the 'under consideration status'

OA(100min):

Coding Question: commonly asked round robin allocation problem with {customerid, quantity, bid, time} and you're given a certain total inventory. Now you need to allocate inventory based on highest bid(use timestamp as tie-breaker) until inventory is over. Return customerids who haven't been allocated anything

AI-repository question: commonly asked movie repository question(follow actors and get notified about new movies). basically a few unit tests are failing and you can use AI assistant for basic questions and exploring the codebase. you need to fix those tests. most of your time goes in exploring the different controllers, services and tests.

Work Style/Simulation:

Now typically these are 2 sections and they ask work situation questions on 'what would you do in this situation', 'prioritize these tasks', etc. I was very surprised that 70% of the work simulation were technical questions about reliability, scalability, storage, maximum availability, etc. Rating graphDB, docDB, key value stores, log-based DB, etc. If you have to stream an image feed from cameras, what will you do to support it.

The work style section was typical, but a lot more confusing than the youtube videos i have watched for guidance. The 2 statements given for you to pick are both positive and at times all 4 options given in a MCQ are always positive. So its quite confusing to understand which to pick

Anyway made this post to help anyone else who is giving the OA in the new format

“Build It” coding round with Revolut. What in the world should I expect

I have a “build it” round coming up with Revolut. Reading some of the threads has got me confused about the structure of this interview. It doesn’t look like leetcode, what is typically asked here? Some involvement with concurrency? Would really appreciate if someone could talk about their experience.
Should I use AI editors or should I avoid it

Context: this is for mid-level(SWE2) and Dubai as location

Someone even posted about interviewers being clueless about the concepts they were asking lol

What does Rippling pay in Bangalore for SDE2(L6)? Levels.fyi says 56 base but some threads on reddit say 40

Reposting this from developersindia. Hey folks from Rippling or people who know of their friends. What does rippling pay for their L6 or SDE2 level in Bangalore? Levels.fyi says 56 LPA as base for almost everyone at that level but elsewhere in reddit some ppl said 40 or 45.

Context: my current comp is 40 base and 10 bonus. I’m at 2.3 YOE

Got an invite for 30min Revolut Recruiter Screen - but they apparently ask technical questions?

Hey everyone, I’m a SWE with 2+ YOE and I got an invite for a Python(AI platform) role at Revolut EU/UAE. It’s just a 30minute call but they have explicitly said that they’ll ask “technical questions around real world scenarios”. Not sure what to expect from this, can someone help me out here? Thanks

What’s the Expected timeline for SWE Interview at Rippling

Recently completed all rounds of SWE 2 interview loop for London including onsite and the engineering manager round (with succeeded the onsite) but haven’t received any response from the recruiter for 4 days. Does it usually take this long or are they holding out for a better candidate or is this a sign of rejection via ghosting?

I was told that feedback from the onsite round was positive immediately and the team matching round was scheduled. I felt the team matching round went well but not sure now given that it’s been silent for the last 4 days

Appreciate any information about this!

Reasonable timeline to expect after final Engineering Manager round

Recently completed the Rippling interview loop including onsite(the feedback was very quick) and the final EM round. I thought it went well but haven’t gotten a response from the recruiter and it’s been 3 whole days. I made a mistake reaching out the very next day and didn’t get any response. Now in a difficult spot, not sure if there’s no decision been or it’s a reject or they’re waiting on something

Are recruiters aware of any other due diligences that need to be done before they can verbally confirm an offer to a candidate. I know it hasn’t been much time, but the wait and anxiety is driving me mad. Don’t want to be ghosted by recruiter forever as I have heard is common with the company

[Help] Any information on Rippling SDE Process would be great

Hey everyone, it’s been about 3 days since I finished the interview process for Rippling SDE2 London. I had to give an additional engineering manager round after the onsite loop. I think we had a good conversation about the team and my recruiter mentioned that the EM and hiring manager would have a connect and finally make a decision and that it would take long. However I’m getting a bit anxious now about why there hasn’t been any response since the final round. (Note: the feedback from my onsite loop was really quick - recruiter got back the very next day)

Am I being placed on hold for a better candidate or have the managers simply not had the time to meet and discuss this?

Would love to hear about the process from people who have gone through it. I’ll hate it if I’m ghosted forever
