Hello! I was wondering if anyone had any graphic novel recommendations somewhere in the Urban fantasy, high fantasy, horror intersection areas.

I love more realistically art-ed things and am not against reading "kids" series. I love mike mignola, p craig russel, and ted naifeh's art styles. Some titles I've read and really enjoyed are:

CW: meltdown description. I haven’t been to the hairdresser since 2018 for two reasons 1. Can’t afford it and 2. It’s a sensory hellscape. My spouse recently started working so for the first time in almost a decade I booked a haircut (-1hp) with a sensory accommodating and queer friendly local salon. I had already rescheduled once and wimped out (-1hp) but today I got in my lyft (-1hp) and drove down to the salon and! The stylist was out sick (-3hp) So I got on the cancellation list (-1hp) and began the lyft ride of shame back home. Well my brain had decided it was haircut day and I called four other salons (-4hp) but I guess its prom/graduation season until ~mid july(-1hp) but I didn’t know if I can do it in July but I do know I can do it today. So I watched tutorials online of how I wanted it done (long chelsea) and gave it a shot at home. I wear glasses and had to take them off to cut it which was hard. And of course I’m not a hairstylist so its weird now. I tried to shower to get the hair pokies out (-1hp) and found out the hot water at our apartment is out (-1hp). Dejected, sensory, and socially drained, with my spouse not out of work yet for a co-regulation support I tried to access my comfort media of shitty 80s horror tv and trying to wade through the 2 factor authentication required to re-initiate my shudder subscription broke me so I just laid in a blanket puddle on the floor crying for however long it was.

Tl;dr a cascade of poor events led me to cutting my own hair and now I hate it and feel bad.

Hello! When I was a teenager, I went over to my church friend’s house and her mom made us some filipino food that I dream of To This Day. The soup was INCREDIBLE and I want to find the recipe for it. I know there was fish in it, but I’m uncertain if it was catfish. When I asked her mom what was in it she said coconut milk and peppercorns but I’m pretty sure there was some other stuff as well haha. I think I tasted lemongrass or something citrussy but nothing overpowering. She made it in a crockpot if that’s relevant.

Alternatively, she also made glass noodles with some veggies that I’d love the recipe for. They were kind of golden (still clear though!) and had very thinly sliced carrots in them and some other veg. I unfortunately don’t have this friend’s contact information anymore, and I know she was always embarrassed about her mom serving us traditional food vs like, ordering dominos or something.
