How do you embed products in Shopify blog posts when you have hundreds of products and thousands of photos?

Below are four options but scalability is a problem, and I'd like to know what people with large catalogs do.

(For some background, the problem shows up around 40-50 products. At 4-5 photos each that's already 250 images to pick from, and every post means choosing which products fit, finding photos that match, writing alt text, adding links. It's the slowest part of writing a post, so it's the part that gets dropped - which is how you end up with blogs without products, images or links.)

1. By hand: Fine for the first few posts. Then you stop doing it.

2. Buy Button channel: Free, and the price stays current because it loads live, which is nice. But you still pick every product yourself, and the embed is JavaScript - so it's not in the page text. Google may render it. The AI crawlers don't run JS, so as far as ChatGPT or Perplexity are concerned those products aren't on the page at all.

3. Theme work: Developer adds a product block to the article template. Haven't done this myself. but from what I can tell it scales the rendering but not the choosing, and the products sit in one block under the article rather than between paragraphs.

4. An app that reads your catalog: Some embed cards, some write the post and place products for you. Disclosure: I build one of the second kind. The honest downside is it's only as good as your product data - thin titles and descriptions and you get generic placements - and if you publish twice a month, by hand is cheaper and better. Worth checking if any of the apps put put real links and images into the page HTML or load them with a script.

So, anyone with a few hundred products - how long does one post take you?

South Bay spots where kids are welcome and the food is still good?

Any suggestions for kid friendly restaurants where the food is actually good..

(Bonus points for play area, patios or anywhere the kids can wiggle around a little without getting side-eye.)

Looking for fall programs or classes in Torrance that are actually worth it

School is about to start and I'm sorting out what to sign the kids up for this fall. The 6 year old is up for pretty much anything, the 3 year old is at that tag-along age.

Looking for suggestions from local parents who've had good experiences with: sports, swim, art, music, STEM stuff, all fair game. Trying to find the ones the kids look forward to going back to.

South Bay dad of a 3 and 6 year old. Where are some hidden gems for kids after you've done the obvious stuff?

We're in Torrance. We've already done the beach days, the aquarium, the Del Amo play areas, parks, Dig It, South Play, We Rock the Spectrum, etc. (The library reading program, and Live Steamers is pending.)

Few more weeks of summer to go and I'm out of ideas. What are your less obvious go-tos for the 5-8 age range? Indoor or outdoor both fine... and happy to drive 30-40 minutes for something worth it.

Is the Whisky a Go Go still worth it on a weeknight?

Live rock fan, been out of the Strip loop for a few years (kids happened). With the Viper Room going away I'm trying to figure out where to actually see good bands.

Love the Whisky, but do they still host real lineups on weeknights, or is it mostly pay-to-play now?

Looking for live rock buddies, concerts and Sunset Strip bars

Hey all, LA local here, M/44, dad of 2, and a rock fan. Most of my friend circle isn't really into the genre, so looking for a few people to catch shows with.

Thinking the viper Room, whisky, troubadour, etc or just bar-hopping the Strip. Still bummed about the Viper Room situation, all the more reason to hit these places while they're still around.

Planning to catch a show in the next couple of weeks if anyone's game. Grab a drink, catch a show, talk about life. Comment or DM!
