Is it possible to grow an Instagram account by only posting carousels and NO REELS?

I just started a Science tutoring account with 30 followers. My contents are:
- general science topics (targets the general audience, i post controversial science topics)
- exam-specific study tips (which to target, how to answer kind of posts)

The reason why I don't want to post reels is because I am personally dealing with severe acne flare ups, which caused me to not be able to show my face.

My goal is to attract people to follow and engage with my Science account so I can convert them into my students for 2027 classes.

The question is: Is it possible for a tutoring account to get an audience by just postimg carousels and stories? Thanks!

Broke up 1 year ago, reconnected 5 months ago just for him to move on with someone new 1 month ago.

Now I am completely shattered. For the second time by the same person.

The first heartbreak:
- I got cheated on while being on long distance
- It was difficult, I lost appetite and only started eating normally after 2 months
- I had more "motivation" to be a better person: found a new hobby, made a lot of new friends, started a side hustle, travelled with friends and family.

The second heartbreak (now):
- He treated me as a backburner and got together with my friend
- This time, I have already lost the motivation to be better. Like I just wanna rot in bed and stare at the ceiling all day long.
- I feel like no matter how much hardships I go through, I still do not feel happy at the end of the day.
- Meanwhile, he was happy with someone new. The girl treated him better. I don't get it, why someone who has done so many bad things (cheating, "almost" physical abuse) get so much happiness in life?
- I never dated anyone new in the whole breakup timeline. I have never found anyone better than him.

Please share me your thoughts of how to stop feeling like a loser.

- 3 years together, we were both toxic. Relationship ended with him micro-cheating and ghosting me.

- 6 months of no contact

- He reached out and I thought giving him a second chance means giving myself a second chance too.

- I tried to be there for him and do the things I would've done when we were together (being a better listener, a better problem solver etc).

- Turns out he kept me as a backburner while talking to other girls. During my birthday, no gestures or effort was given.

- I was truly disappointed and decided to call it quits. Removed him and all his friends from social media.

- Two weeks later, he got a new girl again. Now I'm shattered again and healing went back to square one.

So moral of the story is:
NEVER GIVE SECOND CHANCE.

My ex and I broke up a year ago. I was the one who ended it, but only because:

  1. I found out he was cheating

  2. He ghosted me

  3. We were toxic and incompatible anyway

That period destroyed me. I lost a lot of weight, isolated myself and honestly felt like I stopped living for a while. After a few months, I slowly rebuilt myself. I found a hobby, started a side hustle and life felt stable again.

Then 6 months later, he broke no contact and said he wanted me back. I told myself nobody is perfect. I thought giving him a second chance meant giving myself a second chance too. So we started talking again.

I genuinely tried to be better than I was before:

• I became a better listener

• I showed up for him when he needs it

• I communicated openly instead of bottling things up

I thought things were going well.

Then on my birthday, he did absolutely nothing for my birthday. No effort at all. That hurt more than I expected.

One day I decided to confront him and decided to cut off everything. He insisted he wanted me back. This time, I said no.

Two weeks later, he had a new girlfriend.

And now I feel like I’m back at square one. I’ve lost my appetite. I wake up not knowing what I’m living for. I feel like a dead soul inside a body.

I know logically I dodged a bullet. I know he’s not a good person for me. But emotionally, I feel completely shattered.

How do you stop feeling like you’ve lost all your progress after giving someone a second chance?
