I ended a friendship for small reasons and now everyone is coming out of the woodworks to reveal all the things I’ve said about her.

I (25F) have been friends with this girl, Lena (24F), for about 3 years now. Since last year, I’ve noticed a change in her behavior, where she seemed to be a little bit more entitled than before. Expecting rides even when it was the opposite way from the place we were supposed to meet at, forgetting her wallet and always relying on a friend to cover, expecting full research done by someone else who has the same career goals as her and leeching off of them. I got kind of tired of it. I met her when I was in a really low point in my life and she has been with me through a lot of friendship changes, so I’ve considered her a solid friend, but this type of entitlement, which some people probably wouldn’t consider rude, was something I couldn’t handle anymore. Just because I had a small amount of friends doesn’t mean I need to pay for someone’s companionship, as that’s what I was doing.

So, I didn’t reach out to her for months. There were a lot of things that led up to this moment. When we went to study for a test at the library, we sat in separate desks across from each other. In the middle of a timed practice section, she comes over to my desk and stands there. When I don’t acknowledge her because I’m trying to focus, she taps her fingers on my desk. I pulled out my headphone and she asked me if I knew where the bathroom was. To me, this was literally the last straw, despite how small it is to other people. She could see I was focused and we were both doing the same thing so she knew it was timed, and we are in a public place with signs everywhere. It was the entitlement to my time that I decided right then and there I would not be her friend.

Anyways, months after not speaking, I removed her from everything. She noticed right away and asked what was wrong. I wrote her a really sweet message saying that I loved and appreciated her, but there were things that she’s done over the past year that I found quite rude and I distanced myself because of it. I told her I’d love to stay friends, but we didn’t have to be that close anymore. Anyways, 24 hours went without a response and her Tiktok came on my FYP and I went on her profile and saw 30+ reposts with notes about terrible friends and one specifically that said “when they end the friendship over a misunderstanding, it proves they weren’t your friend in the first place.”

I don’t know why that one got to me but I thought it was very immature to repost 30+ videos and add notes to it, so I sent her one last text explaining that I don’t want to be friends with her anymore because of her immaturity and I listed out every single time that she has done something that has really bothered me. (Now I understand I was immature as well for being passive aggressive, not voicing my concerns, or not bringing this up to her sooner, but like I said, some people may not consider the things she does as rude, so I didn’t want to make a big deal out of nothing). I promptly blocked her from everything.

Two weeks later, our mutual friend Sarah receives a text from Lena saying Lena doesn’t want to be associated with anyone associated with me because Lena recently heard we were talking badly about her family and that it was quite disrespectful, and that she would no longer like to remain friends with Sarah. The only thing that we have discussed about her family is that her father is a registered sex offender towards minors and that is why she lives in the middle of nowhere and why it’s so inconvenient to pick her up and we don’t feel comfortable to go to her house when there’s a registered sex offender at home. It is public knowledge and he is on the registry. If that is saying something bad about her family, well I am sorry. The only person who would have said that and revealed that info is another girl, Jane, that we had a group falling out with and we all haven’t spoken to that girl in over 8 months, so I found it interesting that Jane came out of the woodworks to reveal this information, as if she wasn’t present and involved in the conversation about the Lena’s father as well, also feeling uncomfortable with going to her house with her father around.

Anyways, I’m grown now. My frontal lobe has developed. I don’t need this kind of friend, and she doesn’t need me as a friend either. But I just want advice on how to go about the feelings of having people discuss you behind your back.

Nausea eating anything not from my house specifically

Hi everyone,

I just started my semaglutide journey 5 weeks ago and recently upped my dose. The first 4 weeks were on a very low dose (0.1L from 2.5 mg bottle) and now I have upped it to 0.2L (or 0.5 mg). I could not eat anything from outside without feeling super ill. I had some lentil soup from a restaurant and threw up in the middle of the night (that was the only meal I had besides breakfast). The next day, I had a middle eastern dessert and also threw up later in the night. I even had a bite of cake from someone who baked a cake in their own home and immediately felt nauseous after that 1 bite. The only time I do not feel nauseous is when the food is from my house specifically, regardless of what ingredients are in it (I'm not the most clean eater lol).

Has anyone experienced this with outside food? I really thought vomiting wasn't a common thing but I guess it happens sometimes.

Random Free Alo Gift Card?

Just got an e-mail with them gifting me a gift card for $21. Is that normal for Alo to do? I haven’t shopped there in a while and was kinda shocked.

Greg and Zohran Mamdani have the same voice

I was listening passively to a bunch of tiktoks while getting ready and not looking at my screen, and I thought I heard Cousin Greg talking about some new NYC policy and I missed an episode. Looked at the screen and saw Zohran Mamdani. Did not realize how similar they sounded lol. Random observation.

Hey everyone!

I am in need of a new laptop. I’ve had this Macbook Pro 2020 13-in with a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Processor and 8 GB memory for about 6 years, and around 4 years ago, the screen malfunctioned and now I have a black bar that’s on the middle of the screen. I’ve been able to live with it for now since I don’t really use my laptop, but it’s getting to the point where I need to replace it because it heats up fast and loses battery quick.

I am only using it to study for the LSAT right now, which is not that much of my time since I work full-time and I have a work computer, but I do want it to last until I enter law school (fingers crossed) in Fall 2027.

While I do tend to have Apple loyalty, their computers kind of suck. This is my 3rd MacBook in 10 years and 2 years into this MacBook did the screen malfunction. I am now looking for any brand. I would like it to have a good battery life, doesn’t heat up that fast, and lasts a long time. I am only using it for the internet (e-mails and law school prep). I don’t really want to spend $1000 on it so anything $600 or less, although I’ll be willing to spend extra if it’s worth the durability.

Any suggestions? I appreciate all and any input.

Receiving harassment from German visa holder

Hello,

I am a U.S citizen and about 2 years ago, I befriended someone from Morocco online to practice my Arabic skills and we became close friends rather quickly. We fell out of contact about 1.5 years ago naturally as our lives got busier and this individual moved to Karlsruhe in that time with the Ausbildung program visa. 2 weeks ago, he messaged me and wanted to catch up. I messaged him back not thinking anything, but he kept spamming my phone and updating me about his day every minute. After 2 days of this, I could not take it anymore and I sent him a message saying that I do not want to talk to him anymore and he is bothering me with his constant life updates. I blocked him after that on Whatsapp and Instagram. He got very mad and sent me a 7,000 word text message that he sent me on iMessage and also shamed me for not offering him money (??? we never talked about money before). I got offended and said that the only reason he came back into my life was for money? And then after that, he sent another large message describing every bad thing about me and my family. I told him to leave me alone and blocked him from everything I could think of after that.

Now, 2 weeks later, he messages me from another iMessage account and unsends the message. Then, he finds my personal e-mail and starts to harass me, saying that someone DM’d him on Instagram about me (which is impossible because we do not share any mutual friends or individuals that would know I talked to a random guy from Morocco). I replied saying that this is now harassment and I will contact the German authorities if he messages me one more time.

I can only imagine this deranged individual will message me again. I want to know if I can report this as harassment to the German police. I want to report it as cyberstalking or cyber harassment. Do I have a case or do I just continue blocking him? He is a visa holder, not a citizen. I am tired of him bothering me for no reason just because we talked 2 years ago. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
