Obscure art deco crystal ball/orb holder my grandma had. Desperate to find out more about it. Illinois, USA

I have included one of the only photos I have of the piece which is very blurry, and the closest AI recreation I could manage. It’s three human figures (one is obscured in the background) with their legs at 12 and 6, so to speak, the “12” leg is holding the orb, and their other “6” leg is touching the ground. The figures are leaning back with their torso’s extended and arms hanging behind them. It’s art deco style but I don’t know if it’s actually from the 20’s/30’s or the art deco revival from the 80’s. I believe it was made of cast iron. It’s so obscure but I figured I’d give it a shot here. Thanks for any thoughts or leads!

Advice for re-applying to previous job

I used to work a great job in supply chain for a hospital nearby. I was a star worker and had a great reputation. I foolishly took another job thinking the grass was greener and ended up regretting it. Before I left the supply chain job, my manager told me if I ever wanted to return they would take me back in a second. I also received a phone call from the Recruiting Director of my department where she told me they’d love to keep me and if I was ever interested in working there again, even at another location, to reach out to her.
Well, I’m interested in returning. I’ve been applying to the same job position multiple times and my resume, CV, and applications seem to just get rejected through what appears to be an AI recruiting process. I also know this company prioritizes seniority hiring so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these jobs went to current employees.
I reached out to my old manager who I’ve maintained a professional friendship with and he told me hiring is handled solely by the recruiting department and is out of his hands. I reached out to the Recruiting Director- the one who actually called me when I left- and have not received a response.
One of the big mistakes in my life was leaving this job and I’m borderline desperate to work there again. Does anyone have advice that can help me push through the obnoxious recruiting process and at least secure an interview?
Thanks all.

What’s your favorite ‘forgotten’ horror movie?

For me I have two:
“Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer” is underrated and almost never mentioned in “best horror movie” lists when it absolutely deserves to be. While it has a dated feel it absolutely stands the test of time and has some of the most terrifying sequences and endings I can think of.
“Tourist Trap” is my go-to “forgotten” horror movie which has the best use of scary mannequins/masks/uncanny elements. The intro scene is so creepy and so good and has an unintentionally funny element to it but I don’t mind it. It’s much less heavy than “Henry” and is a lot of fun.
What movies do you think should be part of the general horror conversation more often?

One toxic desire I’m still fighting after quitting

I am about 3 weeks completely clean and fully committed to my continued recovery. I am selfishly quite glad I will not even have the option to purchase more in a weak moment after the 1st. However I still have a devil on my shoulder suggesting I get one last pack to tuck away and save for a rainy day for “old times sake”. I know in my head I wouldn’t be able to just set it and forget it, I would probably use it all before the 1st even hits, but I could use some words of encouragement to help shut the shoulder devil up 😫

I have money again!

By some strange coincidence I finally decided to quit a few days before I heard of the government’s decision.
I don’t get paid a lot but seeing my paychecks stay in my account and not go down by the hundreds every week has been such positive reinforcement. Yes, work is harder without a tablet that gave me the dopamine rush I needed to deal with people, but the benefits outweigh everything. To anyone struggling, the only way out is through, and this is the only scenario I’ve ever experienced where the grass actually is greener on the other side. You can do this and your wallet will thank you

Worst part of withdrawal I never hear talked about

I am luckily about one week clean from 7oh with full intention of staying clean and but what I noticed that bothered me the worst while using was that I would start to withdraw in my sleep and suddenly get very vivid, bad dreams. Does this happen to anyone else? It was the worst scrambling to get to a tablet half asleep just to not have nightmares

Got of 7oh by cheating?

I was 10 years off opiates/10 years on suboxone when I relapsed and began my 7oh habit. I basically stopped taking subs and replaced it with 7oh. When I finally got to the point that I was ready to quit 7 I waited till I was in withdrawal and switched back to subs and used my prescribed methylphenidate and clonazepam as support/comfort meds. I realize I’m extremely privileged to have legal access to these meds and they have made quitting very smooth (don’t get my wrong the first 24-36hrs was absolute torture even with the subs) but I feel slightly guilty that I was able to use other technical narcotics (that I take as prescribed) and also incredibly privileged that I had these meds to fall back on. I needed to use any tool at my disposal to get off of this product once and for all and I guess I don’t know if there was a point to sharing this other than if you have a trusted psychiatrist that might prescribe you anti-anxiety meds (I dont recommend admitting the 7oh dependence to them) please take advantage of it. I also believe my adhd meds replaced some of the lost dopamine. I just wanna share what worked for me even if it’s frowned upon. Whatever it takes to be free of these products 🤷
