Looking for an Epi. The black is a vintage 1995 Speedy 25 in excellent condition. The pink is a newer Alma BB and the blue is an Alma PM. I have Speedies and Almas so it wouldn't be a new style to me. Something about the black speaks to me but I really love the silver hardware on the Almas. What would you pick?
Alright ya'll, need some opinions! I'm usually a LV speedy girl. I love the size of my 25s as a crossbody and 30s as a shoulder bag. I'm looking at these 2 Gucci bags. I love the crystal but its a little big. I think it'll match with more and I'll probably add a strap from a quick shoulder carry. The supreme is probably more my size (I'm 5'3 135 lbs) but I wish it was coated canvas. I do really love the pink and orange tho. Soooo which would you choose? Does anyone have these bags? I'd love to see pics!
I wanted this bag so badly. I love the DA pattern and its so perfect for summer but omg, this bag has literally plagued my existence since I bought it.
First, it was one of the side tabs. I wanted to spray it with leather protector. I've sprayed sooooo many things in my lifetime and I've never had an issue. Well, I have to assume the previous owner treated the vachetta with something and when I sprayed (I just did the bottom half of one tab to start), it literally turned the vachetta rock hard. Like I bent the very tip and it cracked right off. Needless to say, I ended up removing the entire tab.
Second, I wore a grayish hoodie that I've owned and washed enough times for the damn thing to be considered vintage and of course....you guessed it....color transfer. Luckily, I was able to get it off the canvas and there was just a mark or 2 on the handles.
I ordered a vachetta shoulder strap from Amazon specifically for this bag because when I wear it as a crossbosy, it just looks a tad too big on me. I've ordered several in the past and never had an issue. Ordered "dark beeswax". This strap came and holy shit, it was orange! The worst color EVER.
Then, I stuffed her with a pillow, put her in her LV dust bag and put her on my shelf with the rest of my bags. I was pretty much over it. After a couple weeks, I went to grab her and there were huge cracks in the vachetta where the brass ring for the handle meets the bag. No frickin clue why or how. It's never happened to any of my bags and it's definitely not *that* dry in my house.
I was literally about to take a loss and just sell it, maybe get the tab replaced by a cobbler first but I really do love speedies and I love the DA. So I figured what the hell at this point, let's darken up the vachetta with some leather conditioner to try and blend out the marks from color transfer. Went on Amazon and bought a D-ring conversion kit, drilled a couple holes in the sides and went to town. Found some yellow floss to stitch thru the tiny holes left from where I removed the tab and got some new twillies. Voilà!! Pretty happy with how she looks....FINALLY!
What do you guys use to condition your coated canvas bags? Google tells me Saphir Médaille d'Or Coated Fabric Lotion is the best but I'll be damned if I can find it on a US site. Everything is UK and shipping is just obnoxious. What else is there? My Speedy DE 30 has a small crack already 😭 most of my bags are preowned so I'd like to give them a little spa treatment. Bag tax...cuz you know...lol
Not bad for my first try! My lashes are stupid long and stupid straight! I did one eye at a time. One side is at a slightly different angle than the other but oh well. I had to leave them process almost double the length of time. The 10/12 minutes listed on the instructions literally did nothing. All in all happy for 20$ on Amazon!
I ended up using twillies on my Alma and DA speedy but I don't want to do that all the time. I was thinking about trying the ones in the 2nd picture. Anyone use these? Do ya'll have any other suggestions? What do you guys use? And yes, I'd love to see your pics! Thnx!!
I said I was good with speedies for a little bit. I don't know what or how it even happened, but that monogram 25 just showed up at my front door today!

...is absolutely finding the most kitschy clearance bag charms and dressing her up to match my mood! Literally sat for the last hour wrapping the handles, messing around with random key chains, bag charms, and bracelets (I skipped putting on the $1.99 lil round puff ball, but it sure was a close call). Do I have big plans tonight? Nope, unless you count my drive over to Kwik Trip. Am I happy? YESSSSSS!
