See, Brit? This is how you do a smokey eye!
Didn't she learn anything in all the years of getting her makeup done professionally? There are some really good tutorials on YT, girl! You don't HAVE TO look like a raccoon all the time...

I've been a Britney fan since I was a young child. I can't honestly remember a time I wasn't a Britney fan, ever since my mom was listening to her, Christina and the Backstreet Boys (she's a pop girlie), and I'm having a really hard time understanding why the conservatorship was so bad?
I understand that some aspects of it were awful, like being forced to not have kids or not having certain freedoms any person should have. That's awful and it should've not happened. But she was also doing better than she's doing now in many aspects.
She was working and doing what she loves the most, she was with her kids and going out on vacations, she had multiple relationships and looked genuinely happy in most of them. She wasn't a recluse, doing the same routing over and over and over again, and she looked healthy, stable and happy. I know deep down she was suffering for certain aspects, but her life overall seemed better when she was under the c-ship. So I honestly don't know how to feel...
Did we all make a mistake by pushing for it to end? Should she still be in a c-ship, just without so many restrictions against her civil rights?
I just want what's best for her, but I'm not sure total freedom is that. I've seen for the past 4 years a woman who's wasting away her life, trapped in a cycle of reliving trauma, blaming others for her issues, not taking care of herself, getting in trouble with the law, and not doing what she always said she loved the most; she's alone, her children are living their own lives, she's single and has no friends we can see. She looks sad and unstable. It's soooo heartbreaking...
Can you imagine Britney dressing like this? Showing everything? With her boobs hanging?
No, it can't be. Kevin must be lying... /s

Will the players that bought the game and stopped playing come back when more content is added?
Will it be like with InZoi that barely sees any new players returning in spite of new content?
My opinion has always been that you only get ONE CHANCE to hook players in and make a lasting impression. No matter how good these games get, most people who bought it won't come back. There's too much content out there, new releases every day, new AAA games every month. The game will remain in most people's Steam libraries collecting dust.
The ATRL leaker recently talked about EA's thoughts on the new games: InZoi and Paralives. They insisted EA doesn't see them as a competitor because they're OPEN WORLD games and, in their own experience, those games are destined to fail.
The leaker went on to explain all the issues that those games usually experience, from performance issues to corrupted saves. The longer you play, the more likely is your save to corrupt in an open world game, according to this person.
As a Sims 3 player, I can't say they're totally wrong. Save game bloat and issues are definitely a thing the longer you play. After 2 or 3 generations, I generally PACK my family and their relatives (using NRaas Packer) and I move to a new world. Loading times increase quite a bit, as well as RAM usage, in old save games.
Even though both InZoi and Paralives will have more RAM to use (as they aren't limited by the 32-bit architecture like TS3), RAM is still not unlimited. Some people will play the game on systems with 16 GB of RAM, and that might not be enough. I heard reports of Paralives having serious memory leak issues and using as much as RAM as it can (up to 20-something GB), and that's happening in relatively FRESH saves.
What do you guys think? Is EA correct? Will open world games inevitably cause issues and break? Are both InZoi and Paralives doomed or will they manage to deliver an open world that doesn't cause issues LONG term?
With the recent release of Paralives and the steady stream of updates InZOI has been getting, it makes you wonder what The Sims team is working on these days.
Here's what we know so far about Project X, based on leaks from a former EA employee:

The Sims 3 is a miracle of engineering.
The fact the developers were able to achieve such a seamless transition and loading of lots using the RenderWare engine, with 2009 limitations and a 32-bit executable, is something worthy of commendation!
Newer games like inZoi and especially Paralives are open world but they don't have this seamless transition. InZoi incurs on a loading screen when you don't walk / drive to a location (so the loading is carried out as you're moving). When you visit a lot in Paralives, there's a small loading screen that can last a few seconds. The entire game is frozen while the lot loads, and you can only have 2 lots loaded at once, when you visit a third lot, the first one is unloaded. This is very immersion breaking compared to The Sims 3.
In contrast, The Sims 3 loads everything instantly as zoom as you zoom in. With modern hardware, the loading of the dynamically generated textures is almost instantaneous as well. NPC Sims are carrying out their daily routines, and they don't pop in as soon as you "load" a lot, like it happens in Paralives and other games. TS3 will send more Sims to a lot you're currently visiting.
I think TS3 is not appreciated enough for what it was able to achieve with essentially technology that's almost 20 years old, that modern games, indie or AAA, are struggling to replicate.
I didn't know if I should post this, but I know some of you love The Sims 3 and are probably curious why The Sims 3's EA Story Progression doesn't REALLY work.
I have Simler's Core Mod installed, but even though it fixes the actions and coding of Story Progression, the way everything is implemented is limited by some TUNING FILES.
Let me first explain what's an ACTION, since that's key to understand this issue. An action is, for example, "Bella Bachelor and Mortimer Goth moved in together" or "Agnes Crumplebottom decided to adopt a cat." There are all kinds of actions Story Progression can do to keep your town active and give a sense of progression.
But there are SEVERAL ISSUES!
First of all, by default Story Progression is set to perform only 4 to 10 actions per day. This was probably done for performance reasons, but EA's hardcap was a bit too conservative. 10 actions is not a whole lot, especially if you have a ton of EPs.
Each EP adds its own set of actions, from turning random Sims into occults, to modifying the influence of social groups, to giving Sims pets, etc.
The big problem lies in the way EA decided to WEIGHT this actions (i.e. to make Story Progression prioritize some actions over others). The MULTIPLIER value of each action is what determines how much weight the action has. EA also adds a bit of randomness here, but not enough to make up for the problem.
And the big problem... The Most CRUCIAL Base Game actions (romance, move in with partner, have baby, get job, etc) have a low multiplier, but most of the EP actions have a high multiplier (it's a "bit" more complex than that, but I'm trying to make it simple).
Using Simler's tuning I was able to see what actions SP was performing everyday and it was superfluous EP actions (Add College Degree, Increase/Decrease Nerd Influence, Join Social Group, etc.). With the hardcap of 4 to 10 actions a day, there was really NO SPACE for more important actions like romances and babies. This will result in a pretty dying/aging population.
I'm still testing it out, but my fix so far seems to be making a difference:
I will continue testing and there are more things that I need to research more (such as the temperature and friction logic the StoryProgression AI uses to decide which actions to pick; it seems it adds a bit of randomness to the mix rather than adhering more closely to the multipliers and weights).
This also explains WHY StoryProgression kept degrading more and more as more EPs came out. Those actions were clogging the system and not leaving room for far more important ones.
I hope some of you found this interesting!
It's so creepy that you can the inside of your character from most angles...
I've been working on my catalog overhaul / recategorization project, and searching through the game files I found this amazing thick fence from Supernatural. The flag "Show in Catalog" was set to false so it was 100% hidden. I found many, MANY more secret objects during my search. I think it's so cool that we can still find hidden stuff so many years after the game's been out!
