I had a bad day then- poppers!

Hey goblins of all persuasions. I consider this a girl dinner bc i ate half of the tray and passed out lmao. But this is the recipe i posted in comments. Happy popping! (I love popper jokes nobody can stop me) also fixed some of the typos bc we’re popping peppers not pps

2-ish good sized jalapenos. Cut the stem butt and the tipoff. Slice em in half, hotdog style not hamburger style. Gut. Take cream cheese and plop a block of that sweet sweet philadelphia on your work surface. You wanna start with a clump about the size of a grape? Idk. Enough to fill the pepper to flush, minus 2-3mm. Pretend you’re using clay. You want it UNDER the edge of the flesh, not lined up with it. From hole to hole. Take several fresh cloves of garlic. Chop messy, no crushing. Or slice them if you’re fancy. Spread garlic bits over the cream cheese till mmmmm 60% of the cream cheese surface area is covered. Take bacon. I used hickory smoked something pork bacon. Hold a pepper half up, vertically, and twist the bacon round it “backwards” so when it cooks, it makes a prettier “band” around the center and lets the garlic get roasted where its not covered, and stay raw where it is covered by bacon. Texture and flavor variation. Use a toothpick to pin the ends together. I think i did 35~ minutes? At 400 (i was v stoned) but i did start checking them starting at 25 minutes which flubbed the cooktime.. because I was hungry.

Lack of food?

This is the first time ai’ve seen all of them converge on one wafer. Nerites are known for being wild-caught so is this an indication of starvation?

Cool hitchhiker

It came as a larvae on some moss from a big brand petstore and I feel weirdly protective and proud of it and wanted to share since it’s growing beautifully. Its name is Henry, my free-loader gold leopard ramshorn. When I first saw it, I panicked and tried to pick it up off the tank wall bc i didn’t know what it was and cracked the shell a decent bit as you can see in the center of the coil. I felt horrible i mean i felt like i.. you know. Almost crushed a living thing to death on accident. It survived and has healed that shell exponentially. I’m very very proud of Henry.

Critical lack of understanding

I was researching and researching and decided to get these from hygger. I understand in theory how they’re supposed to work, by creating a pull that forces water through the sponge and the exhaust air and water flor out the top. I cannot wrap my mind around how these things aren’t just aerators with extra steps? Like where does that suction force come from? If the air is supposed to force the water in the chamber into the sponge, how does it filter anything besides the very bottom of the sponge? When i sit and stare at it for several minutes, i swear the only current i see period is the bubbling. I can’t see anything being gently succed into it… just tank “dust” that has settled

Edit: thank you for the input. I understood in theory how they’re supposed to work, it just seemed like witchcraft in practice lol

Nerite being weird?

I’ve never kept Nerites before. Do they choose a spot as their bed consistently? This one is always either under those marble upside down or half burrowed in the gravel. Only when sleeping. Looks like it’s going through a midlife crisis every time it goes to bed and throws on a weighted blankie. I’ll find a buried photo as well because it scared the hell out of me when i first saw it.
