I m planning a trip to venice this winter and I’m trying to figure out footwear for possible acqua alta / flooded streets.
I know rubber boots are usually recommended but I really dislike wearing them. I m much more confortable in leather boots and I m wondering if a good pair of pull on boots could realistically work.
Has anyone actually worn leather boots in venice during acqua alta ? Was is ok or did you regret not bringing rubber boots ?

What was their brand ? Since how long did you had them ? Did you put some waterproofing on them ?

Am I the only one that use leather boots as rain boots ?
I hate that rubber rigid feeling.
And to be fair even in deep puddles a good pair of leather boots can keep you dry.

I have always seen many peoples wearing doc Martens when the festivals are muddy. But is it a good option ? Is the water / mud not getting in the boots through the laces ?

Always heard that leather must avoid water but I ve never been a fan of rubber boots.

I'm not fan of the comfort and the style of rubber boots

I m not a big fan of wellies and I m supposed to go to venice this winter :)
