Hi everyone,

I'll be joining Ahmedabad University this year and will be staying in the Student Village.

I have received a scholarship covering my tuition and hostel, but I don't want to depend on my family for my monthly personal expenses. I'd like to become financially self-reliant from the beginning if possible.

My monthly requirement is only around ₹4,000–5,000, mainly for electricity, mobile recharge and other basic personal expenses.

I'm not looking for anything that would negatively affect my academics.

I wanted to ask current students:

• Are there any paid on-campus jobs?
• Does AU hire student assistants for events, offices, library, admissions, etc.?
• Are paid Student Ambassador roles available?
• Has anyone managed to earn around ₹4k–5k/month while studying?
• If not on campus, what flexible part-time work do AU students usually do?

I'd really appreciate practical advice from current students who have done something similar.

Hi everyone,

I have accepted my admission offer at Ahmedabad University for this year and selected a Twin Premium room in the Student Village.

I wanted to ask how the roommate allocation works.

• Can students choose their own roommate if both agree?
• Or are roommates assigned randomly by the university?
• If they are assigned randomly, is there any way to request a room change later if there are genuine compatibility issues?

I'd appreciate hearing from current students or anyone who has stayed in the Student Village.

I'm currently pursuing the IIT Madras BS Degree (since September 2025).

Recently, I received a 100% Need-Based Scholarship from Ahmedabad University for the BBA (Honours) in Finance & Economics, covering full tuition and full housing (including accommodation and daily meals).

I'm seriously considering accepting the offer, but before making my final decision, I'd like to hear from current students or alumni.

• Is this level of scholarship common, or is it awarded to only a few students?
• How has your experience been with the scholarship renewal process?
• Are there any hidden or mandatory expenses beyond the refundable security deposit, electricity charges (if applicable), and personal expenses?
• How has your overall experience at Ahmedabad University been, both academically and personally?
