Will I be a successful server?

First shift tonight at a diner I’ve been hosting/bussing at for over 2 years. Here’s the rundown: 5 hour shift, 5 table section, very slow day. I made about $700 in sales and $85 in tips, every table tipped, unfortunately i didnt see how many total tables I served. For a slow Monday morning/afternoon with manager selected tables and such, how did I do? Do y’all think I’ll be successful? I only ran into a few problems but had no complaints about my efficiency/amount of time to get to someone’s request, there were some awkward moments but I think I’ll improve

I’d like to preface that I work in a small breakfast diner with nothing being over $20. Most people are in fact tipping 15-20% it’s just small ass bills

How to manage multiple tables at once?

How to manage multiple tables at once? I start serving this week and im very excited, I’ve been at this restaurant for over 2 years and know lots of the regulars and understand the flow, and im working on the menu. What im worried about is managing multiple tables and not just focusing on one. Best multitasking tips?

Realistically how would a tattoo turn out on these scars

Im not looking to fully cover up, something small so I can look down and think of something else, however it would be fine line, would it turn out okay or honestly just look bad - theyre all raised and shiny

I know an artist that is good working with scars but I wanna know what people think, especially if you have scar cover ups yourself

I feel like I’m never doing my job correctly and never will + job rant

Just turned 18 and work in a grocery store deli making sandwiches, my job is very simple but I just can’t have a single day without messing up to save my life and it’s been a month. Follow the list top to bottom cuz I was told it’s priority? Nope wrong should’ve done this one first. Coworkers tell me something and then I get in trouble cuz it was apparently wrong. Closing? ALWAYS miss something. And when I’m working alone I never have time to slice meats and cheese for the next day I finish production right when it’s time to start closing and I get shit for that but is it my fault that theyre short staffed the next day??? Im also being asked to work on Sundays which I have off due to my other job, I said I’d be working 15 hour days and cant do that and my supervisor says “your other job isnt my problem” okay and this job isnt my problem when I’m at my other one so now what. I was hired with them knowing this by the way and on the first day my manager gave me Sundays off because of the job and said it’s perfectly fine but now theres problems with being short staffed yet they hire a new dishwasher and barista we don’t need - im just complaining now. But seriously theres something new every single day that im doing wrong, when will I get it right? When will I get into the flow of everything without issues??? I stress so bad before every shift, when I’m actually working it’s fine but holy im scared of what my supervisor has to say everytime I see her. She’s actually very nice and a great supervisor thats not on her, except for the scheduling stuff. Girl it’s not my issue if you’re short staffed or if production doesnt happen for a day im a minimum wage entry level employee. Like no im keeping my 2 days off and im not doing overtime when I’m also in school 😭 am I not taking it seriously enough? This is not a forever job a lot of these things arent my problems to solve

Didnt show my deceased budgie to the rest of the flock

It was a freak accident and the whole family was in shock, we all held and kissed him for a long while before laying him to rest once he started going stiff. I asked if the others should see him, we didn’t know what was right and ended up not, was this okay to do? Will the other birds understand eventually? I regret not letting them see him.

Budgie died in a freak accident and I feel so much guilt

My baby Binoo passed away today and I genuinely feel like I’m sleepwalking. He was normal - playful, eating, regular sleep, etc. my brother said that he was acting a bit strange earlier, just sitting on top of the door for hours, but still continued to play with my brother and do his normal thing. I was in the kitchen, and all of a sudden a bird comes shooting out from the room and crashes into the window. He died in my hands when I grabbed him from the sink. Our birds have NEVER had issues with windows. When they’ve bonked into them they’ve been absolutely fine. All 5 know our house and come out of their room to play and fly all the time. This was also strange because I never heard him flying, he was going faster this I’ve ever seen a budgie go, and he come from a hallway that our birds literally never fly to. It was so unbelievably tragic and also really strange and through the heartbreak we’ve been trying to figure out what happened and why he did that. We think he had some developmental issues, he was much smaller than the others and came to use as a rescue but I don’t see how that could’ve had any affect on this. What happened?? Did a switch flip? I can’t help but feel so much guilt, we’ve only had him for a year and 5 months since we adopted him, we promised him a long and happy life. He was so happy, but had so much more to give. Does anybody have any possible idea of what could’ve gone wrong?? I miss my baby and want to understand.

Edit: thank you all so much for the kind words and reassurance, Hes so loved even by strangers and even in death. I appreciate all of you so much

Can I move out with 10k?

Ok so I am desperate to get out of my house. I just got a full-time job at 16/hr, I have 4k saved at the moment and plan to start looking to rent a place once I've reached 10k. I'm also asking because I will be going to university in a year. However, I'd rather deal with financial stress than the stress of living here. Any advice is appreciated. (Extra info: Rooms for rent are about $600, and single apartments start at about $1,200 - lots with utilities included!)
