can my dad check in for me?

hello everyone!

I am flying into chicago for Fourth of July weekend and I was wondering if it was possible for my dad to check into my room for me since I’m arriving hours later.

both of the rooms have my dad listed as an “additional guest” even though I’m the one that booked it. I’m 19 so under the 21 age rule. so they won’t let me check in alone. good thing is, my dad and brother are arriving more than 6 hours and before and since I’m arriving super late into the night, I just want to get my key and go to my room without waking up my dad and having him come down to check in for me. is that possible ? or difficult to do ?

confirm ID

hello everyone.

I’m in a pretty tight situation. so my mom’s passport was lost early today, we genuinely have no idea where it went. we suspect it may even be stolen since we’ve been away from our home for the past 2 months. the only problem is we’re going to Chicago for July 4th.

so on the way there, we are in a good situation because we decided to take the AMTRAK and he in some good scenery. however for the way back, we were planning on taking the plane back. her flight ticket and everything is cut and all she has is her standard drivers license.

I know the TSA confirm ID is really risky but I wonder if we should take that risk and just go and hope for the best. Or if we should stay an extra night and take the AMTRAK on the way back as well.

severe vomitting after iron tablet

hello everyone!
I am very deficient in iron so I take 325 mg of ferrous sulfate. today was my first day taking it and literally 30 minjtes later I started throwing up violently. I have now vomited six times in total and I genuinely don’t see it stopping. i know nausea is a common side effect but is it normal to this degree ?

restrictions on selling PR products

hello everyone!

I am a medium sized influencer on TikTok (450k+) and I’ve only really been posting for around 6-7 months. I resell clothes and a bunch of vintage designer items and I have no trouble with those.

however, I get TOO much PR products. like I genuinely don’t know what to do with them. I’ve tried doing giveaways and just handing them out but they’re surprisingly a lot of work. I want to resell on depop for cheap (I feel bad profiting too much on stuff I got for free) but I just don’t know if I can…idk if there are restrictions for selling or if there are certain rules for skincare and makeup products and stuff. please lmk!!!

conscious vs deep sedation

hello everyone!

I have a colonoscopy coming up in a couple of days and I still don’t know if I want to do the conscious or the deep sedation. I have OCD so I tend to hyper fixate on the bad scenarios all the time, it also doesn’t help that my friends keep telling me about all that could go wrong. which do you believe is safer ? the deep sedation or the conscious one ?

passed permit test, didn’t do vision

hello everyone!

in July of 2025, I took a permit test at a DMV center in MN. basically I didn’t have my glasses on me so they told me to return the day after. something happened that prevented me from returning the next day and then I had to fly back to the country that I lived in that week. There was a personal emergency. For context, I lived abroad for 13 years of my life and I only moved to MN for family purposes. Even the it was temporary.

I was wondering if my knowledge exam would still be active or would it be considered experienced since it’s been damn near 11 months. I don’t mind retaking it but of course who wants to retake ANY exam right now?

chance me

Hello everyone please chance me!!

GPA: honestly unsure if I correctly calculated this since my university does not provide full cumulative GPA’s unless you ask.

But I had a 2.9 first semester of college (freshman year) to a 3.7 gpa my second semester. I took a summer semester with a 4.0 and since then (upcoming senior) I haven’t gotten lower than an A. I haven’t even gotten an A-. Not sure if course rigor matters but I took probably every single upper level science available and got A’s in all of them. I believe my cummulative gpa is around a 3.83-3.884 and my science is a 3.8.

MCAT: 527

CLINICAL PAID HOURS: 2200. CNA at my universities hospital and MA.

Shadowing: 100 hours across 9 specialties

CLINICAL VOLUNTEERING: 1300
-I own a nonprofit in my mothers home country where we do charities and fundraising events in exchange for funding for hospitals. I do a lot of direct patient care and I’ve genuinely learned so much from this experience. This is probably my most impactful of my clinical volunteering list. I’m kind of lowballing the achievements because some are super specific and I don’t want irl’s recognizing it. There’s also a section of it that’s basically a skin and hair initiative for women who can’t afford it that has really expanded. Now in 5 countries in that continent where women have more direct access to hair care and skin care.
-I’m the president of a club that sends students to a select country (from a list of 23) to volunteer in rural clinics. I did that concentrated during my gap year before college so I had a lot of experience in that.
- I did about 300 hours of behavioral health volunteering because I am a psychology BS major.
-Hospice volunteering 300 hours during my freshmen year

NON CLINICAL PAID
- I own a clothing brand based in a country I lived in for my whole life. (I’m American but I grew about abroad). Social media really helped it explode, I have over 8 stores average 7-8 figures in revenue per year. It expanded fairly quickly because there’s a demand in the area.
- leaderships and operations role at disability support & consulting organization. I work directly with families of children with disabilities, assist with client relations and care coordination, help secure organizational partnerships/investors, organize events/outreach initiatives and give presentations to schools and hospitals for collaboration opportunities. It’s a pretty diverse role. If you’re wondering how I got in, my father owns it lol but he basically left it in my hands and wanted to see what I could do with it. It’s doing really really good. I’ve been working on it since I was in high school.

NONCLINICAL VOLUNTEERING
- built water wells for clean access and for drought protection.
- volunteered at a disability center for 4 years

CLUBS
- 4 pre med clubs; really well respected at my school. President at 3 of them and vice president at 1. I basically worked my way up from starting as a treasurer or secretary during my freshmen year to president and vice president.

LOR
- head of school, I was student body vice president for junior year so I worked closely with her!
- head of biology department because I took over 5 classes with her.
- head of psychology department because I worked with her the closest.
- my research PI

RESEARCH
- I honestly haven’t calculated the hours yet but I did 2 consecutive years of two different labs. One lowkey we barely met up but we still accomplished a lot. I have 1 pub from that one. The other one I put a LOT of effort into and it was the best experience I’ve ever had in my life. I have total 3 pubs and 2 posters. My research is a bit lacking but I’m taking a gap year to focus on just research sooooooo.

there’s probably stuff im forgetting but yolo.

MY SCHOOL LIST:

- I lowkey want to aim for T10/20s. The amount of TIME I spent on my application is crazy. I don’t have an XFACTOR or anything and my gpa is lowkey lower than the 10th percentile but do you guys think my EC’s could make up for them ? They be may a bit repetitive idk.

EDIT: I want to add that my initial low gpa was because I had undiagnosed severe ADHD and if my brother wasn’t diagnosed, I probably never would’ve been diagnosed either. I also have a pretty severe chronic illness that I’ve had for 2 decades that literally hospitalizes me every time I’m under a spell. I had many of those instances over the years.

number of credit hours

hi guys!

this might be a stupid question but does the number of credit hours you take negatively affect you? my school has a 120 minimum credit requirement to graduate but because I completely got caught up in taking practically every science class I could take, I lowkey lost sight of my major requirements. well I do complete the and I probably will finish at roughly 170 credits (?) Will it impact me at all ? I also had a science minor if that changes anything

math1271

hi guys!

does anyone know when calc 1 grades are out? I know the hard deadline is this upcoming Monday but I heard from some people it could take longer. Also wondering what you guys think the curve is? The final was actually extremely hard. I answered every question but I literally made stuff up while I was there lol. I just wrote anything on that paper.

hi if anyone’s looking for a job. I (and my father) own a consulting agency in business bay. It’s brand new (only open for about 6 months or so). It’s American owned and operated now. Due to the war business has slowed down significantly but it’s started to increase again recently. We have two employees currently, hired at 8k for one and 12k for the other. We don’t discriminate at ALL based off of nationality. The work you do makes all the difference. If you have any experience/education in marketing, psychology, business, accounting, etc; we may have a position for you! Just dm and I can send you more details if needed:)
