What is happening with my leased line install? (critical services)

I work for a large org, our current ISP is shutting down very shortly so we placed an order for a resilient leased line in May through BT - we were assured we would have it installed by September.

We had a survey done, OR engineer came out and said no issues - they can splice from the existing fibre tray already in the rack of the location we want it.

Since then, we have had radio silence from OR. Our account manager at BT has said they have chased continuously. We have requested to drop the resilience requirement to speed up deployment.

I received an email today stating that because of the resilience (which we told them to take off) it is now scheduled to be built for the end of December - three months after the BT proposed date!

BT AM is adamant he has no way to speed OR up. Does anyone know how I can get this moved pronto please? (contacts, services etc)

Without saying too much about the org, we deliver critical services to the public. Just shows how desperate we are.

We will genuinely pay ££££ to get it sorted.

Thanks.

Can I upgrade my NetApp AFF220 to the latest ONTAP without support?

AFF220 has been sitting in storage for a few years, it’s sat on 9.7P15 from 2021. I can download the software from the website no problem (multiple as it won’t be a direct upgrade).

Is there any reason why it wouldn’t work? Will I be paywalled after applying the update?

Thanks.

TCP slow in only one direction on VPN?

I have two sites, A and B - connected by a S2S IPSec VPN on gigabit links.

Site A has a Fortigate 400E running latest v7.2.
Site B has a Fortigate 120G running latest v7.6.

Site B is able to line-rate on iPerf3 to A on TCP/UDP.
Site A is able to line-rate on iPerf3 to B on UDP only.

TCP is very slow (less than 1% of UDP).

I have the same config on both sides. VPN interface(s) have tcp-mss set to 1418 on both sides. No profiles applied to impact performance. DH is 21 w/ AES256GCM-PRFSHA384 if it makes any difference.

What am I missing here?
Thanks, real head scratcher.

Tingling arms and legs + foot drop

I’ve been on oral minoxidil for the past two months, in the last three weeks I’ve developed foot drop, basically lost all sensation in my big toe so struggle to lift foot enough to walk probably.

My arms and legs are tingling, have to take ibuprofen to suppress. Right side is a bit numb (not a stroke). Not finding much info online, do you think the minoxidil has caused this?

I was fine for the first few weeks, obviously going to stop taking. Looking for anyone else who has experienced what seems like nerve damage on this?

Thanks

Possible foot drop? Numbness on right side of body.

28M, 5ft 8, 61kg. UK based.

A couple of weeks ago, I started tripping over my right foot. I didn’t think much to it, putting it down to the fact I had some new shoes and things would get better.

Over the last week, I’ve noticed I’ve developed a limp. After googling, I found out about foot drop. I’ve noticed I can’t lift my toes up with my heels down on my right foot, which I can easily with my left foot. My toes are drooping on my right foot. My right leg feels numb, mostly at the shin/foot.

I’m not in pain, I do sit at a desk and probably don’t sit how I should for long periods (slouched / curled up).

Since googling I have now noticed some numbness on my right side (torso/arm/neck/face), but I’m probably working myself up and that being placebo. I can smile still (no droop) and have full control of my right arm despite numbness. It’s affecting my balance.

Is it worth attending A&E or should I wait for GP on Monday?

I’m pretty concerned but don’t want to waste time.
Any guidance/advice appreciated.

Anyone collecting this next week?

I’m picking up my Tesla Model 3 RWD from Cambridge tomorrow.

Anyone else manage to snag a car in March/April just before the masses started jumping on the PCH deal?
