How lenient are they with being late due to bus delays??

May be a weird question. I arrive August 10th and I’m dead ass super nervous cuz I’m not brining my car and I wanna make sure I make it to work on time with taking the shuttle buses. One thing I’m worried about is if something happens with bus delays, will they get upset if you’re late because of that? Or is it something to avoid if you get there early before your shift. Sorry, I’d just like some nice advice for what people do with the shuttle buses for making it to work on time! I know it depends on the park, but any advice would be nice! Ty all!💜

How hot is it in the apartments😭??

The airing nice in the apartments?? I’m already planning on getting a fan for white noise (as long as my roommate is ok with it). I’ve never lived in Florida before so I don’t know how hot it gets inside buildings depending on the central airing. I like a cold room to sleep in😔💔

First time Temporary LD for 5 months with bf(20M) and I (19F)😞

I leave August 9th for an internship program, and I’m going to Florida for a whole 5 months and come back January 7th. I’m so excited to do this (my bf is happy for me too!), and I know it’ll be a good thing for me, but I still get SO nervous about going long distance. We’re finding ways to keep close. We bought tiny sketch books we’ll draw in and give each other when I get back, use apps, and ft and text as much as we can.

Does this nervous feeling EVER go away? I know no matter what I’ll miss—cuz I love him so much—but I don’t constantly want this nervousness and worry over my head while I’m trying to have a good time down in Florida! Any tips or reassurance that it’ll be ok?? I’m gonna be back in October for 2 days for a concert with him, so that’ll be good too! I just wanna know how it’s been for others so I won’t be as worried/scared! Ty all💜💜

I’d love to hear good experiences!

I leave in August and I’m super excited to work and have a good time! I think it’ll be a good time for myself and doing something for me.

Though—I can’t lie—seeing some posts online where people say their experience was downright AWFUL makes me so nervous! I wanna have a good time while being able to balance work, life, and money!

I’d love to hear everyone’s good experiences during the program and what helped them maintain that good experience :)! Please do share, I love to hear people’s stories!!

Has anyone gotten specific roles due to their prior work experience?

Sorry if that sounds dumb. I’m 19 and arrive August 10th! I haven’t gotten my role yet, but I’m curious if the roles given are generally random. I’ve only worked two jobs—taco bell and currently serving food at an old folks home(and used a lot examples from that in the interview)—so I wonder if I’ll get a serving role or F&B roles because of my prior experience! Has anyone had the same experience?? Did anyone else’s role have to do with what they worked with in the past? Sorry if this question is dumb!

How is it with requesting days off??

I arrive August 10th! Before I even applied for this program, I bought tickets for a concert in my home state for October 13th that I CANNOT MISS, ITS MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME. I want to at least take 3 or 4 days off for the 11th, 12th, 13th, and or 14th. Is it easy to request days off if you do it in time? I want to request them off as soon as I can when I get down there so they can’t throw it in my face that I didn’t request too early on. I’d love to hear peoples experiences when requesting days off for events or trips!

Tips on having a good sleep schedule/routine? (If that question makes sense)

I'm heading there in August and I'm super exciteddd.
However, I see many people post on social media about how absolutely draining some days can be and where they barely get any sleep! I am sadly an early sleeper and usually need a lot of rest to be ready for the next day. Is it really THAT bad?? If so, how did yall get every single day to work another 11 hr shift (I’ll do it if I have to😔)??

To those who didn’t bring their cars with them, how is it?

My 2009 ford explorer is DEFINITELY not making it down. Is it hard not having a car down there?? How is it with going to locations that aren’t provided by the shuttle bus (like some random store or whatever)? I wish I could bring my car down but I simply cannot😔

I'm switching my major from graphic design to dental hygienist, and I'm honestly excited!! I’d love any advice

I'm 19(f) and have only done one semester of community college. Despite loving art and graphic design, I think I've realized that the graphic design world just won't get me far in life. So my second choice has been dental, and I'm changing my major next week! I know it's A LOT of work—like so much work omg-but I'm ready to take on that challenge to do something that will help others and make them happy with themselves and their smile! I have the Disney college program I'm taking this fall, so l'll be starting my first semester in the winter.
I guess I'm making this post because I'd love to hear people's advice and going into this field, and the positive support will always help too! So many say it's a demanding job (so much hunching over and sitting, it'll kill my shoulders I bet), but aren't all jobs demanding these days? I'm excited to head into the world of dental and learn!!

Can I sign up for skill classes before I get there?

I leave in August and definitely want to take up on some of those classes they have! I think they will be beneficial for a lot of the overthinking I might have LOL. The only thing is, do I sign up for these classes now, or should I wait? I obviously have no clue what my schedule is yet, but I don’t know how attending them or scheduling it works, so if anyone has taken any of those classes I’d love to know!

Are there classes you can take/attend during the program?

Heading there August 9th! Super excited! Aren’t there certain classes you can attend that they have? I had an appointment with a counselor today because I was wondering if I’d get any credits towards doing these. But I’m still kind of confused if there even ARE any classes you can take/attend. If there are and if anyone has gone to them, what have they been like? Have they been beneficial for you?

How was looking for a job once you were done with college?

I'm 19(f) and just finished my first semester of community college with a graphic design major (more specifically MACA design and layout). I've been dealing with some overthinking and realization that I don't think graphic design will pay well and help me live comfortably. I'm thinking of possibly changing my major to marketing.
I want to do more research on marketing, but hearing personal experiences with how others lives are going with marketing jobs is always nice and realistic to hear! Is it beneficial? How was it after college looking for a job? Is it easy working for others? I hope these questions make sense!

Heading there August 9th!! How to help with the nerves??

I’m so so so excited to go!! My sister went back in 2016 and had an amazing time, and now I’m happy I get to do what she did! But I am so nervous it’s not even funny. I’m only 19 and haven’t been away from family this long before. I’m scared I won’t know where to go or what buses to take..how do I stop these worrying thoughts??

This will benefit me greatly with my graphic design passion, and I just know it’ll be an amazing experience to help me all around with my confidence and independency! Has anyone else felt this nervous?? Is this normal?? I’d love to know and hear other peoples experiences who are similar to mine!

My boyfriend(20M) doesn’t think he’s treating me(19f) right. How do I respond to that?

I want things to work out with him bc we’ve been dating for about two and half years. He’s not very good when it comes to talking about his feelings, so I’m very grateful when he tells me how he feels. Last night, he asked me over text, “how are you happy with me?” and, “what is there to like?” He then goes on and tells me what he thinks he’s doing wrong. He doesn’t compliment me enough, doesn’t call me enough, and is too tired to want to do much when I see him once or twice a week. He’s usually busy with work and activities at tech school, and he told me he’s going to be even busier as the year goes on. I love him to death, but to be honest, everything he said is true. But what confuses me the most is how he realizes he’s doing this stuff, and isn’t changing anything about it. It makes me upset and somewhat angry because I just it to work out between us. I want to have a conversation with him because this is a serious topic, but I don’t want to push him away or come off hostile because it’s hard enough to talk about this stuff with him. How do I go about having this conversation with him? Sorry, I hope this all makes sense.
