Genuine question about specific types of post
Why do so many people post questions such as “What does my haul say about me?” It’s not just on this sub, I see it on fragrance subs as well. “What does my collection say about me?” I’m just curious as to what information/feedback people are seeking from this question.
A post today was made and I saw comments saying you look hydrated or you like Tatcha, because the person had skincare in their haul. The answers were based solely on that because that’s all they have to go on. I just don’t understand why a person is asking the question. Does your haul define who you are? It’s just a bit baffling. I can understand asking questions or opinions on the haul, input, etc. Same for fragrances - what fragrance am I missing? Should I declutter any/see any similar I should maybe downsize? Any recs to add? Etc. But what does it say about me? That you’re a hard working individual with great morals, dedicated family man/woman, church every Sunday, clothes finely pressed, and loves to explore new things and travel? All from your haul of moisturizer or collection of Dior Savage Cologne (☠️) - example in jest
Again, the question is genuine. I see it so often and I’m truly trying to understand why so many people feel the need to ask this question and if it is some type of validation or what. I can see it being beneficial and fun. However, I can also see it be the complete opposite if in a sub full of trolls (not here). Reddit can be a harsh place sometimes, so I see it as a “ask at your own risk” kinda question to begin with. 🤷🏼♀️
ETA: this does not include posts just sharing their hauls and GWPs
