The recently adopted stray kitties, Lucy Fur and Lexi Fur, are finally showing interest in their new dog sister. Daisy's dream of having cats that dont hate her is still alive!🤞

side note: Even as a full grown adult man, i can't talk to animals without using the baby talk voice...just cant do it 🤷‍♂️🤣

This is why most of Daisy's walks are at night...squirrels. Every single squirrel is treated like it's her first, as if it's the most fascinating spectacle on earth. Thank god for winter 🤣🤷‍♂️

She's pitbull/Rhodesian Ridgeback meaning she is half derp/half hunting dog bred to hunt lions (for some absurd reason) and hardwired to home in on the slightest movement. Ironically, she gets bullied by two kittens at home. 🤣 A dog trainer helped me get her to stop pulling my shoulder out of socket at the sight of every critter but she basically said u can't train the prey drive out of her, only learn how to distract her. I'm open to advice though....both good and bad. lol

Does anybody else's dog have fur that changes color with the seasons (lighter in summer/darker in winter)?

Daisy is my 3rd pitbull/pit mix and ive never seen that before. She is half Rhodesian Ridgeback so maybe its a characteristic of that breed. Anyway, I think its cool that she gradually becomes dirty blonde in the summer so i figured id ask. 🤷‍♂️

Disclaimer: I'm not really dating my dog...that'd be weird. But I do love her very much ❤️)

Daisy showing off her problem solving skills....or lack thereof🤣 it took her 30 minutes to get herself out of this maze...all because a bird flew over her head, while she cooled off in the river, and she just had to chase after it 🤦‍♂️

Those geese must be talking so much trash to Daisy bc every time we walk to the marina, Daisy insists on chasing them into the water.🤣

it ends in a standoff...at least she's smart enough to recognize when she's outnumbered. lol. sorry,as usual, for the nose breathing🤦‍♂️

Daisy's mantra for today is "fireworks are not scary air monsters trying to eat me. Growling does not prevent them from going bang..." Wise words all dogs should live by. Happy 4th, other dogs! ❤️🎆🎇

Daisy reporting to her nightly Hall Monitor shift..keeping Ozzie and Lucy Fur in check. She takes this very seriously. No funny business, rough housing or playing with those tiny mouse toys that squeal when you move them...unless she's invited..

It's night time, which means those 2 little monsters are about to begin to run around upstairs for the next 4+ hours, somehow making more noise than should be possible at their small size. 🤣

Update on Daisy and the Strays (not a band name..yet)

It's only been a week so I still keep them separated, to Daisy's dismay, but Ozzie Pawsborne is starting to show interest and has only reached through the gate to slap Daisy twice.🤣 That's progress...Lucy Fur still maintains her distance and spends the day staring out the window plotting mankind's demise. Daisy sits at the end of the couch 24/7 begging for their attention

Daisy is the most polite pup cup eater ❤️ she's outwardly excited about everything else but is so patient about whipped cream in a cup 🤣🤷‍♂️

Came home to the neighbors raiding the cat food 🤣

Daisy clearly has some concerns...she thinks that cat food is only for her to steal lol

Now that we adopted 2 stray cats, the magic word for Daisy is "kitties." Say the k word, she immediately perks up and goes to the bottom of the stairs to look for them. 🤣

Hopefully they'll settle in soon so she can finally meet her new friends. 🤞

Daisy meeting his new kitty siblings, Bruce and Gray. Shs loves cats but Im keeping them separated for awhile just so the cats can get more comfortable. I imagine they'll be bullying a 70lb dog in no time. 🤣

Bruce, Gray and Lexi showed up to my house last fall as 6-7 month old kittens. My neighbor and I have been feeding them ever since on top of getting them

fixed and given all their shots. They were very ferile and are just now finally letting me pet them. A different neighbor recently adopted Lexi so I decided to adopt the others. Daisy is obsessed with cats but has been bullied by EVERY cat she has ever come into contact with 🤣

Daisy got a pup cup today..a reward for not barking at the 95 year old lady with the walker for once. 😂🤦‍♂️I have no idea why she views that sweet old lady as a threat when she slowly walks by🤷‍♂️

Not too long ago, I was in my driveway when I heard an unfamiliar squeaking sound nearby. After looking around I found a little squirrel dangling upside down in a tree out front. He literally reached out to me, let me grab him and help free his foot that was stuck between two small branches.

After i freed him, he immediately crawled onto my shirt and fell asleep for nearly 3 hours. He appeared to simply be exhausted. I didn't know what to do so I just took a shoe box, added some bedding, peanuts and water and placed him on the front porch for the night. The next morning, he was gone having had some of the peanuts and water. I don't know for sure but ever since that day, there is this one squirrel that always comes up and sits on my porch and doesn't seem scared of me so I like to think that's the same little fella I helped. 🤞🤷‍♂️
