This might sound like a dumb question, maybe even a language issue or my lack of understanding, but what *is* "elemental affinity"?

To clarify what I'm talking about. Moonfall silver, "possess almost perfect elemental affinity". And it's also an excellent elemental conductor, which I suppose is easier for me to understand, cause I have a basic understanding of what conduction means.
Then, the new material, Teardrop of the moon, "possesses a near-perfect elemental affinity with all types of elemental energy".
Am I just stupid for not understanding what that's trying to say?
