RetroBat on PC: Why Won't My Colecovision Roms Run?

I'm trying to run Colecovision Roms via Retrobat on my PC and have 2 questions:

  1. When trying to load a rom, I always get this message: "Warning: The system has missing BIOS files and the game may not run correctly. Do you want to continue? (Yes/No)"

  2. If I say "Yes", I get the standard Colecovision Game Start Menu screen (1-8 choices), but choosing a number on the PC's keyboard does nothing.

Can anyone help me out with this? What's the name of that missing BIOS file and, once found, where do I put it?

I know that the roms are good, since they're playable on my Atari Gamestation Go.

Thanks!

Why Do None of My Roms Run in AfterPlay?

I'm trying to get AfterPlay to work, but have had no success so far.

AfterPlay is downloaded and installed. And I have plenty of rom files for various systems. I can load a rom file into AfterPlay, but when I click on "Play Now", all I get is a black screen. Clicking on that screen with the mouse reveals a black screen with grey bars at the top and bottom that contain icons that I can't decipher. And nothing happens after that.

This is on a PC running Windows 10, if that matters. And I've only tried Colecovision roms so far.

Obviously I'm missing something important to get things to run. Can someone help me out with this?

Thanks!

Favorite Retro Games on PC That You Play with Your Fightsstick?

As mentioned elsewhere, I just got my first Fightstick even though I don't care for fighting games. I was hoping that my fightstick will re-create the experience of playing the arcade games of my youth. ( ie - early 80's)

So I'm curious which retro games you play on your fight stick that might interest me as well. The types of games that interest me are platformers (Donkey Kong, Miner 2049er, etc), Brick breakers (Breakout, Arachnoid, etc), 3rd person shooters (Space Invaders, Xevious, Zaxxon, Missile Command, etc), Maze Games (ie - Pacman, Lady Bug, etc) and others that don't fit neatly into a category (like Qix). As I said, I have no interest in fighting games (KungFu, Wrestling etc) or 1st person shooters like Doom.

So which games of these types do you play on your PC with your flightstick? And where could I find them for purchase? (Any links to locate your recommended games for purchase would be appreciated.)

Does the FightBox R-10 Pro Arcade Fightstick Work With Kinhank SuperConsole X2?

Just wondering whether anyone has ever gotten the FightBox R10-Pro to be recognized by the Kinhank Super Console X2? If so, exactly what do you do at start-up to make this combo work? IMO, it would be great if I could get this console to recognize the FightBox controller.....

GameStation Go, Community Firmware, and Wireless GamePad Question

Can anyone tell me whether the latest Community Firmware (NOT the Beta) for the GameStation Go fully supports playing games off of the microSD card with the Wireless GamePad?

I may just not have noticed before, but the d-pad on my wireless gamepad does some crazy stuff when playing anything off of the microSD card - For example in some games, I can't move "up" on the screen. In others the game re-starts when trying to move "up". OTOH playing those same games with the "Go" rather than with the wireless gamepad works fine.

FWIW - games played off of Local Storage (at least those that I've tried) don't have this problem (ie - the gamepad seems to work fine for them.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Which Retro Arcade Games On Steam Do You Play with Your Fightstick (on PC)?

I just received my Fightbox R10-PRO Fightstick. It has a joystick, spinner, and trackball.

Which retro arcade games would you suggest I try on PC with this controller? I prefer ordering my games from Steam, if that matters.

Thanks!

Problem with Wireless Controller for Gamestation Go.

After installing this 3rd party thumbstick onto the Gamestation Go's optional wireless gamepad's D-Pad, I have a problem ---- It seems that the thumbstick/d-pad is no longer responsive when pushed up. This presented itself only after installing the thumbstick -- Weird, I know!

Has anyone had this (or similar) happen with their GSG's wireless gamepad? If so, were you able to correct it?

Although I find it hard to believe that this is caused by the thumbstick itself. I'd like to remove it now to see if the d-pad will revert back to normal function. So, does anyone know how to remove the thumbstick, once installed?

Thanks for help with either of these questions!

GSG + CFW + microSD Card + Wireless Controller + HDMI?

First I'd like to say that the Community Firmware for the Gamestation Go is great.

But one thing that's not working (at least for me) is that no games on the SD card work when trying to play them on a TV (via HDMI) while using the Wireless Controller.

Does anyone know whether there are any plans to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Fightbox or Similar Controller for Kinhank Super Console X2?

I'm interested in purchasing this Fightbox Controller (or similar) for use with my Kinhank Super Console X2. Would anyone know whether the two are compatible "out-of-the-box"? Or is there a similar controller that is?

I want to avoid doing a lot of fiddling to make things work.

Thanks!

Gamestation Go 2600 Paddle/Spinner Games?

After installing the Community Custom Firmware onto my GSG, My microSD card has a subfolder called Atari 2600 paddle games (or similar). I put a few paddle games (with .a26 file extension) into that subfolder, but the GSG's paddle is non-functional in them. (FWIW, the paddle is not functional from the "Atari 2600" subfolder either).

Does anyone know how to get the paddle working in the appropriate games (ie - Breakout, Kaboom, Warlords, etc) off of the microSD card? (Under "Local Storage", the paddle DOES work in the appropriate games so it's not a hardware problem.)

Thanks!

How To Run Colecovision Games on Atari Gamestation Go?

I have a collection of Colecovision Game Roms (.col file extension) that I would like to run on my Gamestation Go. I've tried two ways to do this:

  1. Placing the unzipped roms in the "Games/Colecovision" folder I created on my SD card, and
  2. Placing the same unzipped roms directly into the "Games" folder of the SD card.

Neither method has worked for me. Although my PC "sees" the files on the SD card, the Gamestation Go does not. - Very Frustrating.

Note that method #2 above works fine for my Atari 2600/5200/7800 roms, so I don't know what's wrong in the case of these Colecovision games.

I'm running the official GSG 1.1 firmware, if that matters.

So, can someone who has gotten their Colecovision titles to successffully run on their GSG help in getting this to work for me as well?

Thanks!
