Road bike or gravel bike? I’m torn.

I’m trying to decide whether to buy a road bike or a gravel bike, and I keep going back and forth.

My boyfriend rides a road bike, and watching him train and improve has made me really interested in that side of cycling. The performance aspect genuinely appeals to me. I like the idea of riding fast, pushing myself, and having something to work towards, even though I haven’t really experienced that kind of riding yet.

The problem is that I really don’t enjoy riding on busy roads and getting passed too closely by cars. I know there are quieter roads out there, but the idea of being able to ride away from traffic is a big part of why gravel appeals to me.

So I’m torn between the performance and speed of a road bike, and the freedom and peace of mind that a gravel bike seems to offer.

For those of you who had to make the same decision, what made you choose one over the other? Looking back, would you make the same choice today?

If you were in my shoes, which would you buy, and why? If you’ve owned both, I’d especially love to hear what made you stick with one over the other.

Torn between enjoying my first baby and trying for #2 sooner rather than later

Hi everyone,

I’m 36 (37 soon) and gave birth to my daughter 4 months ago. I’ve already gotten my period back despite exclusively breastfeeding, so I’m starting to think seriously about baby #2.

I conceived my daughter on the first cycle, had a healthy pregnancy, and an uncomplicated vaginal delivery.

At my postpartum checkup, my OB-GYN advised me not to wait too long between pregnancies and said she’d be comfortable with us trying again around 6 months postpartum. Part of that recommendation is based on my age and the fact that my AMH was 0.98 before pregnancy.

Part of me worries that if we wait, we could struggle to conceive next time and I’ll regret not following her advice. But another part of me feels like my daughter is still so little, and I don’t want to rush through this stage or feel like I didn’t fully enjoy these early months with her.

What’s making this harder is that I’ve always pictured having my children fairly close in age, so in many ways my OB-GYN’s recommendation aligns with what I had imagined for our family. I’m just finding it much more emotional now that my daughter is actually here.

Has anyone else faced a similar decision? How did you balance fertility concerns with wanting to savor life with your first baby?

I know there’s no right answer, but I’d really love to hear how others approached this. Right now I feel torn between not wanting to waste precious time and not wanting to wish away my daughter’s babyhood, and I can’t quite tell which fear should carry more weight.

Has anyone else noticed how similar Noom and Foodvisor are?

I’ve been using Foodvisor for a while and recently downloaded Noom to compare the two.

Honestly, it was a bit unsettling how similar they seem. The onboarding questions are almost the same, many of the articles cover the exact same topics, and a lot of the advice and information appears nearly identical.

At times it even feels like I’m using the same app with different branding.

Is there a reason for this? Do the two companies share content, have a partnership, or use the same underlying platform?

I’m not saying they’re identical, but the similarities are much greater than I expected.

Has anyone else noticed this, or am I the only one who finds it confusing?
