I feel FOMO

It was my decision to prepare for jee but throughout the prep I was in anxiety and I would say depression as well, I was not able to clear it and got a huge huge huge downfall along with no confidence and zero good health.

Now I wanna start all over again, I got a decent govt clg. I have been a nerd throughout my life. With strict parents, I was never able to do things other than studies. I wanted to learn guitar, but they told me to focus on studies then wanted to hang out with friends, they brainwashed me that friends are bad.

So I wanted to rebel a little bit, my dad has everything related to me (email, passwords,my whatsapp logged in his laptop and more)and always tells me you are a kid and I am your parent I would always interfere in your life(yes exactly this). He even tried to join my college group which was only made for students.

The thing is that, now when I see people of my age (I barely have friends since they never let me)enjoying so much, I feel so so so bad that I missed everything, and get even more scared to talk to people. Whenever I open insta it's just somebody doing something and enjoying their life when I am still here who don't even know which new movie got released, how to look baddie, and now I can't even score Good which used to be a thing by which I used to satisfy myself in school. Even when I try I get ignored or just people don't wanna talk to me that it breaks my heart.

I forgot my father's birthday but later surprised him

Pata hai aaj kya hua , So today was my father's birthday, and we all remembered it till yesterday but we all forgot in the morning and he left for his work.We all(my mother, sister and I) had completely forgotten about it, he messaged all of us saying 'happy birthday to me' around 2 pm in the afternoon but none of us saw it and he later deleted that as well🥺(I found out about the message from my notification history later). He came back from his work and we still had no idea (I don't know how we all can be so careless).

Later around 6 pm he went for something saying ' I am just going somewhere ' and after sometime I remembered that I didn't wish him birthday and was feeling guilty and when I shared this to my mom and sister they all said even they didn't wish him😭.

Atp I was feeling so sad and guilty that how can I be so careless for him. So me and my sister decided to do something before he comes home. We called our cousin(he is a very close cousin) to bring cake asap and come here, and I ordered a small bouquet from blinkit and my little sister prepared a card for him.

When he came back , my cousin was already here and he said he is here for some work from my dad and started talking to him , then we surprised my dad and sang happy birthday and brought cake 😭 he was very happy and however didn't say much that we forgot about it but we can all see how happy he was. He later said it's his 50th birthday, and he even bought mithai and planned to reveal to us after sometime as he knew we all must have forgotten about it.We then did a little pizza party.

I am so lucky to have him as my dad, he is maybe strict many times but ik he is a 10x better father than what his father was to him. Love you so much papa♥️.

TLDR : it was my father's 50th birthday and we all(my mother ,my sister and I) forgot about it but later prepared a little surprise for him in the evening and he was very happy that we all are with him and did this little thing.

12th pass (71%), struggled with anxiety during JEE prep—need advice on my next step

I just did my 12th (71 % , I will give improvement exam) , I gave jee but wasn't able to clear it, I am trying to get into private colleges but they seem expensive. I was in depression and had anxiety problems while preparing for my jee and I believe that fear of failing was a major problem that I wasn't able to score well (I was a pretty good student till 10th , I scored 96% in 10th).

I am not sure if I should take a drop and prepare again for jee or just get into a private college. Also from the last 2 years , my relationship with my parents is not going well, and hence I don't want to get entirely dependent on them financially, especially when it comes to simple things like buying something that I need but to them it seems useless, so I do want to earn some money on my own, but my parents are too controlling, hence if I would be near them they would never allow me to do such things and would only tell me to focus on studies.

I would say I am quite passionate and want to have a good career. All these things kept coming to my mind during those 2 years and I was worrying about my family a lot, constantly blaming myself for everything and even went through self ha*m. Today I feel that I have came out of those thoughts a lot but my opportunities have gone and I missed them.
