Biometrics: April 21
P1: June 8

Duplicate P1: July 6

First PR Portal account disappeared: July 24
eCOPR: August 6 🎉
Address & photo accepted: August 6
Final decision on GCKey: August 6
PR card mailed: August 13
PR card received: August 19 🇨🇦🎉

Everything was correct with my application, but I still received duplicate portal emails. My first PR Portal account also disappeared a few days after receiving the duplicate P2.

One personal reminder from my journey: A few months after my AOR, I lost my younger brother. I still think about how happy he was when I got my TEF results, while I was so stressed about PR that I sometimes ignored him or was rude to him. That regret will stay with me.

PR will still be there. Go visit your family back home. Spend time with the people you love. Be kind to your siblings. Make memories. We never know how much time we have.
Don’t put your life on hold for PR. Live while you’re waiting. ❤️

I’m planning to go on vacation on October 25 and want to pick up some new makeup, skincare, hair products, etc. from Sephora before I leave.

Is there usually a good Sephora sale between now and October 25?

Sharing my experience in case anyone receives duplicate PR Portal emails in the future. Don’t panic, it can still be processed normally.

If you receive duplicate portal emails, it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem with your application. Hopefully this timeline helps someone in the future.

Hi everyone,
I need some advice on the best option for spousal sponsorship in my situation.
Background:
I have received P1 and will soon get my eCOPR.
My fiancé and I are not married yet, but we plan to do a court marriage and we have strong proof of relationship.
I was on first record for last 1.5 years so no job as of now.
We are planning to go to India from November to April for our official wedding ceremonies.
He is currently on an LMIA-based work permit in Canada.
His PNP was recently refused due to issues with his employer (not his eligibility).
We are confused between:
Inland sponsorship
Outland sponsorship while we both are here as its faster
Main concern:
Since we will be in India for about 5 months, would inland be risky?
Is outland still possible while we are living in Canada before we leave?
Would it be better to just wait, get married in India, come back, and apply in April?
His employer is kinda mean and we wanna get rid of closet permit
We have enough relationship proof (photos, chats, visits, travel history, etc.).
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation

I finally received my P1. Here is my timeline:

I came to Canada in 2019.
I completed a 2-year diploma.
I have 1 year of work experience (admin).

Unfortunately, because of my points (12th from back), I was not eligible. I had to apply for a visitor record in 2024 and I cleared my TEF exam in 2025.

I received my invitation one day after my results in the December 17 draw.
AOR: February 12
BIL: April 21
P1: June 8
My lawyer communicated to my today 11 june
Replied same day- 11 june

P1 email says : montreal immigration

I never called anyone to ask about my PVO/SVO, and I didn’t contact my lawyer either, because I believe “no news is good news.”( i get scared easily)

But my lawyer called me this morning and scared me by saying we had to raise a webform, etc., just to inform me that she had received the P1. (Very silly thing to do btw)

If you are an immigration lawyer, please don’t do this. You don’t know what we are going through.
