I recently heard “Jin Dharma” instead of “Jain Dharma” — is there a difference?

I recently heard someone use the term “Jin Dharma” instead of “Jain Dharma,” and honestly, it made me curious.

I’ve always heard Jain Dharma being used to describe the Jain religion and its principles. But from what I understand, “Jin” refers to the Jinas — those who have conquered attachment, hatred, and other inner passions.

So is Jin Dharma simply another way of referring to Jain Dharma, or does the term have a deeper philosophical meaning?

For example, does saying “Jin Dharma” put more emphasis on following the path and teachings of the Jinas, rather than identifying it simply as a religion?

I’d really like to hear different perspectives on this — especially from people who have studied Jain philosophy or come from different Jain traditions.

Is there actually a meaningful distinction between the two terms?

Gym / Swimming Recommendations Near Jivraj Park

Hey everyone!

I’m a 23-year-old working professional, new to Ahmedabad and currently staying near Malav Talav / Jivraj Park.

I’m looking to join a gym or swimming class, preferably a morning batch due to my office timings.

I don’t have a vehicle, so I’m looking for options within around 1–1.5 km of Malav Talav/Jivraj Park.

Could anyone recommend a good gym, swimming pool, or fitness centre nearby? Looking for something reasonably priced with good facilities.

Any recommendations or leads would be appreciated. Thanks!

Exploring Ahmedabad & Local Food

Hey everyone!

I’m new to Ahmedabad and currently around Jivraj Nagar. I’m working here and would love to discover more of the city.

I’m especially interested in vegetarian food, cafés, local places, walks, and exploring different parts of Ahmedabad. If there are any existing local groups, community meetups, food walks, or casual group activities around Jivraj Nagar/Jivraj Park, I’d be happy to join.

Also open to recommendations for good vegetarian cafés and places to explore!

New to Finance — Looking for a Practical Learning Roadmap

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently completed my B.Com from a Tier-3 college in Rajasthan and I’m trying to build a serious career in finance. I’m currently working on improving my understanding of financial markets and investment research, but I feel there’s a lot to learn and I’m not sure what the best learning path looks like.

I’m particularly interested in:

  • Equity research & stock analysis
  • Fundamental analysis & valuation
  • Technical analysis
  • Fixed income / bonds
  • Financial markets & macroeconomics
  • Alternative investments
  • Reading and understanding company reports and market research

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have been in the field for a while.

If you were starting again from my position, what would you recommend?

For example:

  • 📚 Books that are actually worth reading
  • 🎓 Courses or certifications that provide practical knowledge
  • 📊 Research reports / annual reports I should learn to read
  • 📰 Newsletters, websites or publications worth following
  • 👤 Investors, analysts or finance professionals worth following on X/LinkedIn/YouTube
  • 💻 Any useful tools or resources for learning financial analysis
  • 🧠 Skills I should prioritize if I want to eventually work in equity research / investment analysis

I’m especially looking for practical resources rather than generic “learn finance” advice.

If you have a personal learning roadmap that helped you, I’d genuinely appreciate it.

Thanks in advance — happy to learn from anyone willing to share their experience.
