Town Hall in Miami Beach - July 2nd

The Miami Beach Democratic Club is doing a town hall with Oliver Larkin (Democratic Socialist running for Congress in FL-25) on July 2nd.

Great opportunity to listen to a candidate running for office and to make your voice heard. The Florida Democrats have been on a losing streak for years - I'm a supporter of Larkin's campaign, and his campaign addresses a lot of the issues I and many others have with the Democratic Party. He's a Democratic Socialist, and I think he's really presenting a new vision for what politics can be in South Florida, and for what we should expect from our congressional representatives.

Donate to a Democratic Socialist - and former Bernie staffer - in Florida!

Want to kick out a conservative Dem who's collaborated with the Trump Regime and refuses to condition aid to Israel? Oliver Larkin is an anti-AIPAC Democratic Socialist running in South Florida - he's running in District 25, and primary-ing one of the most conservative Democrats in the state.

His opponent, Jared Moskowitz, was the first Democrat to join Elon Musk's DOGE Caucus, the only Florida Democrat to vote for Trump's pro-ICE Laken Riley Act, and he has never held a public town hall since being elected in 2022. He's also a former DeSantis appointee who endorsed a Moms-for-Liberty backed school board candidate in 2024, and retracted after backlash.

Oliver needs all the support he can get. He quit his job as a line cook in 2016 to drive to New Hampshire and work for Bernie Sanders, and he was the first candidate for federal office endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America. Anything helps, please share with your network so we can win this.

Are Democrats poised to flip Florida? Jolly and Larkin campaigns are active in Broward.

It seems like Democrats have been gaining momentum here in Florida. It appears to be a swing year, and there was recently a poll showing that David Jolly had pulled ahead of Byron Donalds. I think he's running the kind of coalition-building campaign that Democrats need to win Florida.

Here in Broward, I know that the Jolly team hass been canvassing, which is good to see. I also know that the Oliver Larkin campaign for Congress has been engaging in extensive canvassing efforts. I went to their canvass in Dania Beach today for Juneteenth, and it was nice to see a campaign addressing some of the root causes of Democratic backslide in FL by building a broad coalition that listens to younger voters, as well. I am hopeful that they can inject the energy the party needs if we want to start fighting for people in this state.

I would like to see the Jolly campaign collaborate with the Larkin campaign, I think both tickets have something to offer each other, and that they are building the campaigns needed for Dems to start winning in Florida.

Anyone else supporting David Jolly and Oliver Larkin?

I'm curious about what people are saying about Oliver Larkin's campaign. I am a supporter and I think he is running a stronger grassroots campaign than most candidates statewide.

I will be supporting David Jolly - a moderate - and Oliver Larkin - a more progressive candidate - this November. I find that Larkin's positions on war and AIPAC are actually more moderate than Moskwitz's, who described himself as to the right of JD Vance on the Iran war. And at least locally at the No Kings protests, I've seen more older, moderate voters supporting Jolly and also liking Oliver Larkin. Moskowitz is a more right wing politician than a lot of us realize.

What are your thoughts on this? What do you think about the Senate race?

Hello! Not sure if this post will be approved, but there's a town hall happening in Coral Springs on May 4th, hosted by Oliver Larkin, to talk about redistricting in FL.

There's a lot of justified anger and confusion, and I feel like there hasn't been a forum for discussion about it. Here's a link if anybody is interested!

I'm one of the people who got drawn into a different district, so I'm pretty frustrated myself. Looking forward to any legal challenges to the maps.
