How do you feel about influencers on vacation in Haiti saying it is safe to go back? Especially those in PAP?

I feel like there is a disconnect between those in Haiti saying "Hey look at these safe parts!" and people saying Haiti is not ready for thousands of people to return. Curious what you guys think.

Has anyone with TPS left the U.S. to Haiti or another country?

Asking because I've seen a few young people on social media leave for Mexico, Canada, or back to Haiti and wondering how common this is

People who like animals more than people are suspect

I’ve seen this especially with white people who like animals and fight for animal rights but don’t see black people even at the same level.

TPS TO GREEN CARD? Help me with my research.

I know TPS is over but I want to see which paths most TPS holders ended up going down when it came to gaining permanent residency.

***If you could please comment on behalf of you or someone you know that would be incredibly helpful. Please let me know if a green card was obtained through marriage, family petitions, employment, etc***

I know many were not able to leave their TPS status but the point of this poll is to see whether there were really any options outside of marriage and child over 21 petitions.

Hot Take: Performers Should Not Have 8 Shows a Week if Compensation/Time Off is Not Changing

I recently saw a Tiktok about this idea and wanted to bring the discourse here. The creator's ethos was that the shows of today are different than when broadway first started. The technique is more complex, the songs are more demanding, etc. All of this puts the actors and ensembles bodies and voices (their instruments) at immense risk of injury. Essentially, if the physical demands of these shows is increasing so should their pay, time off, etc.

I don't see Broadway ever giving up their 8 days a week structure. But I think it would be interesting to see a world where understudies have more shows than they do now (which I feel like many actors have been calling out and I've seen a fair amount of understudy performances - so maybe this is already happening to some extent).

Curious what you guys think!

Haitian TPS Holders Will Not Be Deported Overnight

Weekly update for TPS Folks. I know a lot of us don't have any other option other than to stay and if that is your situation, I hope this can be of some relief.

According to some immigration lawyers, deportation is NOT a fast process.

Many immigration hearings are being scheduled YEARS into the future (ex: some as late as 2028 or 2031). These are for deportations that have nothing to do with TPS. So you can imagine that when it will come to deporting about 300k+ people, those times may even be longer.

***You should still make an emergency plan and continue to explore legal pathways. The point of this post is to tell you to NOT panic.****

Reminder, this administration wants you to be scared. They don't want you to know your rights. They want you to give up so they can get their deportation numbers up to please their base.

As of now, you are still protected until at least July 24th.

It typically takes 32 days for a Supreme court decision to fully take into effect. So during late July to early August (could take longer if Judge C. Reyes continues to buy us time), we should receive final guidance as to what the end TPS will truly look like.

I pray that grace periods and the upcoming midterms will be kind to our community.

Post Show Thoughts: Death Becomes Her

  1. They need to release this show on streaming somehow I just can’t cope with it leaving Broadway 💔 I should be able to watch it for the next 10 years and then they can get rid of it forever…(this is my second time seeing it and I need it 100 more times)

*Sad reality is I think this is a show best experienced live

  1. Jennifer Simard is an absolute force and I can’t stop thinking about how she dominated every single scene she was in. Betsy Wolfe is fantastic and I loved the first time I watched it with her (with Dee playing Helen). However, it makes me wonder whether the show wouldve been more successfully with Betsy and someone like Dee. They are so much more harmonious and Jennifer simply takes over the scenes she is in with Betsy. It just makes more sense when she is opposite of the likes of someone like Megan Hilty. This isn’t a dig at all but just something I noticed in terms of the relationship between the two characters and what makes sense.

What are your current CANT MISS Broadway performances?

What are some amazing talents on broadway right now (or upcoming)? I have such FOMO from missing Megan Hilty, Johnathan Groff, and Darren Criss earlier this year :(

*Saw Chess yesterday (mostly because im a gleek and love lea michele) and stayed for Nicholas Christopher. Felt like I saw a performance of a lifetime!

Trusting your intuition and cutting people off

I think as women we are deeply intuitive and hyper aware of the social dynamics around us. For me, I can typically tell if I'll like someone or not pretty immediately (like within 1-2 interactions). But I've always felt like I am being too hasty and try to give them the benefit of the doubt. This has left me with a lot of hard lessons to learn and a lot of friendships that I just tolerate and don't necessarily like.

I'm going through a time where I'm realizing this more and I feel like trusting my gut will leave me alone with only <5 true friends. It makes me sad and feeling like I'm doing something wrong. How do you know when it's time to give up on a friendship? When do you work with people's flaws and when/how do you let them go?

To Older Women: Advice for Young Women in Relationships?

I am in my mid 20s in a serious relationship and have found that the advice of older women has benefited me the most. And so I ask, what advice do you have for young women in relationships? Especially as it pertains to marriage and thinking about the future.

I do not trust that those around me can give me great advice as they've pushed back to me suggesting things like keeping my last name and having a nanny/outside help for household chores. I do not care about being shamed for having unconventional things in my relationship if it means I will be protected and happy. So please give me the best advice you have for a young woman thinking about marriage :)
