Riot Support is holding my recovered account hostage for $300+ in hacker chargebacks (-31,089 VP)
I lost my VALORANT account roughly a year ago after my email / socials / discord got hacked through some malware on my PC. After going through the full verification process, I finally recovered access to my account. When I logged in, I noticed new skins in my inventory that I never purchased. The very next day, whoever had stolen my account *OR PURCHASED MY STOLEN ACCOUNT* initiated credit card chargebacks on those purchases, before this charge back I replied to my initial recovery ticket and point it out and was left with a reply that had nothing to do with the potential of them charging back the purchases. This dropped my account balance to -31,089 VP (over $300 worth of VP).
I immediately reached out to Riot Support to explain the situation. I let them know my account was stolen and completely out of my possession when those purchases and chargebacks occurred, and I wanted the negative VP cleared and for them to just take the skins off of the account.
Instead of reviewing any of my account info and the card numbers I gave them, including the purchase IDs that go back as far as late 2023, Riot Player Support has repeatedly handed me automated copy / paste responses. These supposed "tier 1 agents" like Baku and Hatiousion put tickets on hold only to reply with generic templates asking me to reconsider unanswered questions when there were none. They are completely ignoring my messages, including my exact creation date (Dec 9, 2020), original login username, creation location, original registration email, card details, full address, and specific Venmo transaction IDs. On top of that, they are insisting that the negative balance must be repaid out of my own pocket if I want to keep playing on an account I've owned for over 5 years.
Riot Support already officially confirmed my account was compromised when they granted my account recovery request. How can they acknowledge an account was stolen, but then turn around and claim "no signs of compromise"?!
Their verification system relies heavily on automated checks that completely ignore payment details, cardholder names, and previous recovery records. Punishing account owners for credit card fraud committed by a hacker while ignoring verified transaction IDs is broken player support.
Has anyone managed to get an actual Billing Supervisor to conduct a manual audit? Any advice on getting A REAL PERSON to look at this would be appreciated. It feels like I'm in a hostage situation with Riot support where they want me to pay back what the hacker did to my account I didn't have access to. For anyone who has a account they just got back and recovered with new skins on it, pretty much say GG if they charge back the skins, Riots support has been utterly useless in the matter.
