Pakistan & NW India Preview

Looking through the regions, my mind has been pondering a few questions, if anybody has an idea about any, or just want to share their thoughts, please do:

- Why is there a separate region for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pashtunkhwa?

- Andhra Pradesh is repeated three times over, Why the redundancy? - it is paired with KA, TG, and also is by itself.

- Why is Mumbai a region? - This one boggles mind because I had a perception that Mumbai has been a multiethnic city for several decades if not a century, How were they able to identify a unique genetic signature among Mumbaikars is beyond me.....

- West Bengal & ?North India? - I may be wrong and I am sure there is significant genetic affinity between West Bengal and North India, but if they already have a UP and Bihar region that also extends over North India, why is adding NI here necessary.

- Tamil Nadu encompasses all of South India? - I guess the descriptions for that region aren't out yet, so may be they are considering diaspora in other Southern States....

Updated(Phased) Deccani Results w/ Parental Inheritance

Updated results, phased with both parents...

Not too suprised with the changes, I had suspected for quite sometime the inflated Anatolian% was likely misread Central Asian, as that would match our family history. The Arab, Egyptian & Levantine also increased as expected based on family history(Hadhrami Ancestry), but due to its rather negligible amount could still be noise I guess 😅

Parental Inheritance is pretty accurate based on what I know of both sides family history so pretty happy with that...

Question about physical gaps in a prayer in congregation.

Assalam o Alaikum

Today I went to a local Musalla with my father to pray Isha and I walked in a bit earlier than my father and came up to the second last row where an elderly individual was opening there chair, and setting up against the wall(to his left). Another younger individual was also there, but instead of coming up to the elderly individual who was against the wall in the chair, he started his prayer near the middle of the Saff. The older individual seeing the gap, motioned me to come fill it, however the gap itself was quite large and I was not able to fill the gap completely. The gap between me and the person to my right consequently could fit a 4-5 year old. I expected that the younger individual would move a bit to close the gap, but they remained at their spot for the duration of the prayer leaving the gap there the whole time.

That Saff filled up, so my father ended up coming to pray in the Saff behind me, and after the prayer he asked me why I left the gap. I stated that I stood naturally with the elderly individual to my left(who was in a chair against the wall) as they wouldn't be able to move during the prayer if I shifted completely against the younger individual to my right to fill the gap. My father immediately chastised me, saying that I should have atleast widened my legs a bit so the gap should have been smaller. He said that gaps will be where shaitan would stand.

I know from watching a few lectures that we should not exaggerate or overcompensate when it comes to physical gaps in the prayer, and that the shaitan referred to in the hadith about physical gap in prayer is referring to vice, arrogance, or prejudice you hold from the other person that causes the gap. I stated this to my father and said I had done nothing wrong as i had none for that individual. My father went to this conclusion which is that we never accept what he says, and always argue, and can never accept when we are/we're wrong.

I have obviously left it that, but does anybody have advice on what should have been done... should I have moved to the middle of the gap? should I have widened up more? Or should I have done nothing and just stood as is...

What do you think the ancestry of the individual on the right is?

See title and below:

My question is essentially:

What does it appear their mix may be, if it is with a South Asian group?

What is on the budgie's eye?

Any idea what it is?

I got this pair a few days back, and I didn't really notice this on its eye at first as it is light colored it self, but this thing is appearing way more prominently now.

NOTE: I know there is a rule about medical advice, I am not asking for medical advice, rather what it is simply. If you have medical advice DM me, do not respond with to the post with it as that will break the subreddit rules. Thank You

Phasing with Parents - Quick Questions

Hello everyone, these are just a few quick inquiries about phasing with parents:

Can a person who was tested on the v5 chip, with the latest Ancestry composition(Version 7.0), phase their results with parents who were tested on a older chip, and do NOT have the latest Ancestry composition update(Version 5.9)?

And if you can phase: Are there any benefits/drawbacks, and how long would it take for the phasing to occur?

Note: both parents have tested, but both are on older chip...

23andme Repost + Ancestry Results comparison

Ancestry results came in today... was doing the test more for the matches anyways, not too suprised at the inaccuracy. Suprised they couldn't atleast pick out my North Indian DNA, as I know for sure that I am 1/4 North Indian...

Ancestry Results + 23andme Results Comparison

There was a pretty stark difference. Suprised that Ancestry couldn't even accurately divide between North and South Indian, because I am definitely 1/4 North Indian... and 11/100 is nowhere close to that ratio....
