Eira will turn six months old today, and time seems to fly by. Compared to when she was younger, she now loves to relax and sit on my lap.

After using the MacBook Neo as my primary device for a month, I’ve found it to be a highly capable and enjoyable laptop for everyday use. Having also owned an Asus laptop and M4 MacBook Air, I’d like to share my experience. I was initially very hesitant to purchase the Neo due to its 8GB of RAM and lack of keyboard backlit and here is my honest take.

The Keyboard Experience

The keyboard on the MacBook Neo is arguably its best feature, the Neo offers a tactile, responsive feedback that makes typing genuinely enjoyable. Whether you are drafting long emails, writing reports, or just chatting with friends, the keyboard feels precise and reduces typing fatigue over long sessions.

Outdoor Visibility: The display holds up remarkably well in bright conditions, giving it a clear edge when working outside or near bright windows.

The Operating System: I am using and running Mac OS 27 beta, the software feels fluid, modern, and perfectly suited for casual users. and the Siri AI is really amazing

Everyday Performance: Whether it's managing emails, browsing the web, or streaming content, the Neo handles daily tasks smoothly and efficiently.

My Final Verdict

If you are a casual user and looking for a reliable, well-rounded laptop with a great typing experience and strong outdoor visibility, the MacBook Neo is an excellent choice. Btw i managed to pick mine up before the recent price increase, and it has definitely been a steal.

I changed my trackpad color to indigo, and I find it looks much better than the original color. It really gives the device a fresh, personalized look.

I can’t resist comparing Neo to my Asus A14, which I bought last year for a thousand dollars. The display on Neo is much better, and the sound is almost the same. The only difference is that the Asus is lighter by 400 grams, which is why I chose to buy it last year.

Hey everyone, how do I get rid of a specific Siri command on my MacBook after updating to macOS 27?

Yesterday, I purchased a new Neo and installed macOS 27. I was pleasantly surprised by its performance after using it for 24 hours. It is almost same speed with my previous MacBook Air M4 15-inch model. Btw i only used my Macbook for basic tasks like emails, browsing and watching youtube. I did not anticipate such a high level of performance. Additionally, the AI Siri, currently in Beta 2, is remarkably accurate.

My rent hasn't budged for three years, still at a cool 5k monthly, plus free water and electricity maxing out at 400. Living solo has its perks, even though it's not perfect.
