Phys Ed Female Student Observations Clothing ideas

Hi all! I’m a female going into my first practicum for phys ed in the fall. I’m going to be observing in an elementary school. The teacher let me know they do not have ac so to wear shorts that are like mid thigh, and to dress as if I was being observed from my teacher. Does anyone have any recommendations of brands / clothing to wear? She also said no tank tops and I haven’t found any great ideas for tops yet and it’s tough to find long shorts so if anyone knows any good brands please let me know!
Thank you!!

2021 marin alcatraz

I apologize for so many posts in the past couple days- Still looking for my perfect dj for mainly street and park with some dirt jumps at 5’3. Trying not to break the bank. This lightly used marin alcatraz 2021 would be abt 850 with shipping.
the reach I believe is 401 and I was looking for under 400, but wanted to know if anyone had experience with this hike, riding street or park on it, etc. Not sure if I’ll go for it yet as I know it’s not the perfect one for street and not sure about size but it’s such a nice bike.
TIA

24 in vs 26 in help!

I posted yesterday abt wanting to sell my bmx for a dj. I’m going to end up pulling the trigger on a dj and keeping the bmx for now and I’ll see if I want to fully switch over.
I’ve got a mtb background but looking to get into riding skate parks, learning tricks, etc.
Goals long term are bar spins, foot jam tail whips, fakies, manuals, 180s and 360s, jumping bigger etc.
With that being said I’m a 5’3/5’4 woman and I’m not sure what bike would be good for me. I’ve heard mixed things about 24” vs 26” djs and looking for any advice on if one is better than the other for my size and what I’m looking to do.
Thank you!
For reference my regular mtb hardtail is a Medium frame 27.5 tires and fits me well but obviously wouldn’t be easy to throw around for tricks.

Bike Advice

I’ve been riding mountain bikes for a few years now and also have a bmx but rarely ride it anymore. I want to get more into riding skateparks, street, learning some flat ground tricks, but also doing small dirt jumps. I really want to get a dj but idk if it’s worth selling the bmx for one. I just don’t feel super confident or comfortable on a bmx especially since I’m always riding mtb transitioning from one to the other is super awkward and I think i’d ride a dj more.
Any advice is appreciated

Looking for a bike upgrade- need advice!!

https://99spokes.com/compare?bikes=cannondale-trail-3-2026%2Ctrek-marlin-4-gen-3-2026%2Cspecialized-rockhopper-2026%2Cozarktrail-29-m.2-ridge-pro-mountain-bike-2026%2Cgiant-talon-4-2025

So these are the bikes I’m currently looking at hardtail wise. I can’t really decide if I should go hardtail or full suspension. I also have heard 27.5 are kind of outdated? Everyone rides 29ers now? I’m 5’3/5’4 so I’m always not sure if I should go small or medium frame, and not sure how the fit would be on a 29.
Looking for any bike recs, opinions on the bikes in the link, anyone with similar experience etc.
I live and ride mostly on Long Island right now however I’m trying to go on more riding trips
I ride mostly xc because of the terrain we have here, but I love jumping and drops and flowy trails even though I don’t get to ride them as often
Budget wise I’d like to keep it under 850 however a bit flexible, and I’m mostly looking at lightly used bikes
My current bike is a GT Laguna Pro. it’s a size small frame 27.5 tires. I hate the 3 by drive train, the gears are always dropping. The suspension causes me big issues being so stiff and so little travel, tires went bald quickly.
I’ve been riding about 4-5 years however I’m not super good. I can ride blues and haven’t tried a black yet. I am hoping to get much better. I’m also currently working on some flat ground stuff

Never see anyone with this bike so wanted to put it out there

This is my CSC FT-26 750 watt ebike. I’ve had it for 6 years and have had 0 issues with it. I’ve ridden it in rain, snow, heat, mud, etc and it has held up beyond well! I don’t take it easy on this bike at all, I’ve jumped it many times, taken it on trails, over roots and rocks, etc. I even crashed into a tree and went otb and had no damage.
It has 5 pedal assist levels, 8 gears, and a thumb throttle which can be easily switched to a twist throttle. Out of the box it goes 20mph but if you change one setting in the menu it goes 28-30mph.
I have never had an issue with police or anyone telling me not to ride somewhere. Literally has been able to do absolutely anything I’ve wanted it to do and requires minimal maintenance. I’ve only had to bleed to brakes 3 times in the 6 years I’ve had it and replaced brake pads 3 times as well.
It is so comfortable and suspension is super nice seriously cannot recommend this bike enough!!! I’m 5’3” and need the seat at the lowest setting to be flat foot on the ground but my 6’0 friend has the same bike and with the seat up fits fine on it as well.

LMK if anyone has questions

Sudden hearing loss suddenly returned?

When I was 16/17 I suddenly lost the hearing in my right ear. They put me on steroids, did every scan possible, all tests came back normal including pressure tests, MRIs, etc. They said it was so weird because it seemed like my ear was normally hearing but I couldn’t hear anything. They called it sudden sensorineural hearing loss

Fast forward to now, I’m 20. I was laying in bed the other day and my ear popped audibly. It didn’t hurt but felt like tons of pressure. I sat up and was incredibly dizzy and felt air sucking in almost and then suddenly I could hear again?? It’s super loud and weird sounding in that ear since I haven’t heard in 3 years and I’m completely shocked. I had an ear infection in that ear about a month and a half ago, and I have had some itchiness and pain on and off since then not sure if that can be related to this??

Does anyone have a similar experience of hearing randomly coming back? This is just as bizarre as when I randomly woke up and lost the hearing lol

Any e-bike women on here?

I’m 20(f) and have had an e-bike for about 4 years. I love to ride, jump, go as fast as possible, etc. some people find it weird for a girl to be into e-bikes and assume I’m lesbian or trans or something when I’m not I just love e-bikes. Just wanna see if there are other women out there like me?

Is it possible to not get a placement for student observations?

I am a phys ed student going into my junior year second semester in NY. I live on long Island and there are at least 3 other colleges on the island that offer PE besides mine. Next semester is supposed to be my first practicum of observations, but I’m feeling completely screwed over.
We had to give our top 5 districts and apparently my school only reached out to one of them who didn’t have a spot for me. They didn’t even get back to us rejecting me quickly so only then did they reach out to the other schools I put and by that point they already placed other students in all those districts.
My supervisor has now reached out to more than 10 schools and has only gotten rejections. A school ended up emailing me today with a blank email with just a google meet link for June 24th but if I wait for this one (which I’m not even sure if it’s an interview or what it is since the email said nothing) and they reject me then I don’t think I have any hope finding another since it’ll be so late and everyone I know has been placed.
We aren’t allowed to reach out or talk to anyone we know in districts or any districts on our own.

Does anyone ever not get placed?? If so what happens? My entire fall semester schedule which is already registered and paid for revolves around this practicum and Im freaking out.

I’m from Long Island and know how limited it is to get either county here so I’ve been testing in some different states. I just signed up for an online test for Connecticut, looking to see if any LE in connecticut could tell me how the hiring process was for them and if it’s as good of a state to be LE as i’ve seen online?
