Wio Tracker L1 Pro

I've been experimenting with both Meshtastic and MeshCore.

My initial set up was two Wio Tracker L1 Pro's running Meshtastic. I don't have much around me, but both devices worked and could communicate with one another. The hardware seemed stable and I was happy with sending and receiving messages directly from the device. It was not ideal, but it worked.

I then bought two more to set up Mesh Core (I know I could have just flashed the first two, but I want to keep both platforms for learning).   Unless I am missing something, MeshCore (1.16) requires the phone app or browser to send and read messages?

After the Meshtastic experience, it seems archaic that I cannot do anything from the device.

I am using the firmware from meshcore.io.

Website Timeout / Server Dropped Connection

I've had an issue multiple times now with a TCP 443 timeout to a specific AWS IP that resolves when my TMHI public egress IP changes. I have curl logs showing before/after behavior.

I really don't want to get stuck troubleshooting with level one (troubleshooting laptop, or troubleshooting my gateway- wifi is turned off, I have not given t-life my admin password, home router set up debate, etc.)

What is the best way to engage and get the logs to a level 2 network engineer at t-mobile?

Account activity

Just a public service announcement for those that park emergency funds in a high-yield savings account at Capital One, you need to periodically move money either in or out or they’ll mark your account as inactive. It doesn’t matter that you’re using a savings account for savings, collecting monthly interest, or login multiple times a week with Quicken or login to get your tax forms, they think your account is inactive if you’re not moving money in or out.

I’m thinking about moving it all out to solve that. Yeah, being dramatic with that, and won’t really close my account, but just wanted to give folks a heads up.

Relocating Hose Bib

I have a hose bib on an interior garage wall, about 2–3 feet from the back corner of the garage. The garage is primarily a workshop with a lot of tools, so I never use the hose connection inside the garage.

I'd like to relocate the hose bib to an exterior wall near the front of the garage instead. The garage walls are standard 2x4 construction.

What would be the best way to do this? I was considering copper, PEX, or even a temporary hose run, but I'm not sure what is appropriate.

A few requirements:

  • I live in a rural / farming area and I don't want a plumbing leak inside the garage that could spray water on my tools so I worry about mice with Pex.
  • The area experiences freezing temperatures, so freeze protection is a concern although I would winterize/drain it

What would a plumber typically recommend for this situation? Just trying to get some ideas.

Milwaukee Battery Compatibility

I want to fact, check what the Milwaukee dealer at Home Depot told me. He said Milwaukee has a strategy that batteries will be compatible in the future with their current tools, they’re not going to change their mounting of their battery.

So my question is to the Milwaukee tool users, how is the compatibility of the current batteries to your older tools, and the old batteries to the current tools?

I’d asked him this question because I have three different types of DeWalt batteries, even though I’ve been buying DeWalt for years.

If the manufacturer changes their battery style, then it’s no different than buying a different battery brand.

There has to be some limits to this as battery technology changes.

YouTube Live Setup

Does anyone have a fully documented set up with ZVE10s for doing YouTube Lives?

I’m thinking I need something for continuous power.

Connect each camera via USB to my Mac.

OBS for switching between cameras.

Audio I have the Rode Wireless Pro.

What else?

I wasn't intending to have two Apple Watches. However, when I upgraded from my AW6 to an AW11 w/Cellular I learned that Apple supports having two linked to your Apple ID. And, Apple does a decent job of managing the data between two watches (steps/HR), but not so much with alarms. It also works out well since my AW6 had a giant scratch, it's become my 'work' watch for when I mow/paint/DIY, etc.

Turning off the alarm on one watch should turn off the alarm automatically on the other. Or, if I change profiles from Sleep to Personal, and I respond to 'skip' alarm it should sync to both watches, but it doesn't.

Has anyone else figured out any tips or tricks to the alarm on two watches?
