Thank you CTMs for these fair results!

I love how you equally divided the number of SGs in the wings, and weren’t partial towards your baccha wings.
Also, you deserve appreciation for so accurately identifying the deserving ones, the ones who would actually be a good first impression for the freshers.

Huge kudos

(For braindead people : /s)

Things you should know about Top 7 IITS

IIT Bombay : Most vibrant campus life in the top IITs, excellent alumni network and presence, right in the heart of Mumbai (Powai) so easy access to the city.
Largely acknowledged to have the worst hostels in the top 7 IITs because of lack of space in Mumbai. Also Mumbai is an expensive city.

IIT Delhi : Great exposure to the industry, quants come frequently to the college, very strong startup culture as well, and good alumni network. Its a small campus, not as beautiful as some other top 7 IITs and well, its in Delhi, which is not a great city to live in.

IIT Madras : The most balanced among the top three, beautiful campus, good acads and research facilities, proactive director and staff. However, the campus is a bit far from the main city, and connectivity via taxis is sometimes a struggle. Edit : Some people are saying it is in the heart of the city, I have got mixed opinions on both from students in campus, some say they feel like the campus is like a bubble, on Reddit people are saying its in the heart of the city. Take it with a grain of salt.

IIT Kanpur : Excellent academics and tech culture, the best core engineering departments in the top 7. Students are given a lot of freedom, everything in the campus is run by students and there is negligible restriction on anything, with zero ragging. Some big quant companies don’t come for placements because of Kanpur’s bad connectivity and it being Tier 2. Also, the weather is terrible in winter and summer both.

IIT Kharagpur : Largest campus, extremely vast alumni network and the student life is praised alot. Academics are slightly less hectic compared to Kanpur and Madras. Vibrant campus culture, ragging has been reduced significantly. However, student autonomy is reduced, and restrictions are placed in the light of recent suicides. Director and management are also criticised.

IIT Roorkee : Institute of historical importance, good core engineering departments, campus life is widely claimed to be serene, because of good balance between acads and cocurriculars. The city however, is smaller, and some departments have relatively older infra. Director is criticised for not taking these issues seriously, with reports of profs stealing students’ work coming out recently.

IIT Guwahati : Most beautiful campus, good quant placements. Good connectivity and nightlife contrary to popular belief. Government there is good and making developments in the city. Core engineering departments lack in flair and campus is mainly tech focused. Snakes and rodents are frequently seen on campus, and travel to Guwahati can get very expensive.

For everyone commenting stuff about different IITs, are you all too insufferable to understand that obviously different colleges have tons of different attributes, I said Guwahati has good quant placements, that doesnt mean kharagpur has bad quant placements? Its just what guwahati is known for. Delhi is known for its startup culture, that doesnt mean Bombay has a bad startup culture. All information given here is compiled from current student feedback only.

Stop this new trend of spreading misinformation

Tumlog ke sub mai yeh naya chiz start hua hai jaha random colleges and branches ke baarey mai misinformation faila rahe hai log taaki uska cutoff niche jaye. First of all, aise logo ko khudpe sharam aani chahiye, apne merit pe jao bhai yeh kis kaam mai lage ho.
Secondly, to all other aspirants, koi bhi branch bura nahi hota top IITs mai, almost sab branches ka median 20LPA + hota hai with 60%+ placement rate.
Whether it is biotech, chemical, mechanical or whatever.
The only branches u should be a little skeptical about is Btech Civil and the BS branches. Ive included the BS branches because sometimes people dont know what theyre getting into, those branches are primarily meant for people who want to pursue research/become a professor.

We can just slog today right?

Doesnt matter if we lose, 3rd/4th position is equivalent. We should focus on getting the top 2 position, and for that we need a massive NRR boost.

Its also safe to assume that Pat will choose to bat first if we win the toss?
