Quick Export Quality Issue in DaVinci Resolve + Wobbly Footage

got two problems going on 1. when i handheld the iphone the footage comes out wobbly in post. tried the stabilization bottom and lense correction but it doesn’t really help

2. when i quick export from davinci the footage still looks wobbly and bad even with stabilization on

setup:

**•**	iphone 17 pro max
**•**	beastgrip + 1.33x anamorphic lens
**•**	h.265 main 10 l4.0, 24 fps, 1920 x 1080

is this a lens thing or am i doing something wrong with the export settings? anyone else had this issue?

Shaky footage

I know the app has stabilization settings that are supposed to reduce shaky footage without needing a gimbal. I mostly shoot handheld, but my footage is still extremely shaky. I’m using the stabilization setting on Extreme, yet it doesn’t seem to be helping much.

Using the iPhone 17 pro max with a beastcage

Shaky footage

I’m using an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a Beastgrip case and lens. While reviewing my footage, I noticed it’s quite shaky. I know the obvious solution is to use a gimbal, but I’m surprised by how much shake there is since I had the stabilization setting turned to Extreme. Is there something else that could be causing this? It’s in the beginning of the video the shakes. I also think the lenses could lose its focus but how? It doesn’t even have Manuel

77mm Mist VND on Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM with step-up ring?

Got a 77-82mm step-up ring to adapt my 77mm PolarPro VND to my buddy’s 14mm f/1.8 GM. Will this vignette on the FX3 or is it worth trying?

How do experienced PAs/ADs “read” a setup before arriving on set?

I’m trying to get better at reading call sheets and predicting how long setups/scenes will realistically take on set.
For example, if I read something like:
“EXT. forest– Day. Character runs through forest.”

How do experienced ADs/PAs/crew mentally break that down into:
setup time
crew positioning
equipment needs
department involvement
likely bottlenecks
where everyone stages

When you look at a scene on a call sheet, what are the main things you immediately analyze to understand how complicated the setup actually is?
I’m especially trying to understand how people learn set geography/logistics intuition over time instead of just reacting in the moment.

I need to get to a point where my boss doesn’t tell me want to do

Best portable MiFi/hotspot device that works well with Telcel in Mexico (city + rural)?

Looking for a portable MiFi to use with a Telcel SIM in CDMX and rural locations. Needs battery included, works with Telcel bands (B4, B7, B28), and available to buy locally. not international shipping.

Been eyeing the TP-Link M7352 but the

Amazon.com.mx listing is sold by Amazon Europa which makes me nervous about band compatibility.

Budget ~$1,000–2,000 MXN. Anyone found one in stock at a local CDMX store?

I’m shooting on an iPhone and recording audio separately with a boom into a field recorder (no direct feed into the phone).

From an on-set perspective, how are you handling sync with this kind of setup?

•	Are you slating every take?

•	Just using a hard clap for reference?

•	Or running timecode (Tentacle, etc.) even with an iPhone workflow?

Trying to understand what’s standard practice vs overkill for a single-camera iPhone + boom setup.

Using these for active video projects (ingest + working drive while traveling).

Are the older SanDisk Extreme 2TB SSDs still seeing data loss issues, or are they stable now?

I’d be running a 2-copy workflow (drive + backup), not full 3-2-1, due to budget. Considering renting or buying, but concerned about failure risk/liability with client footage.

Alternative is Samsung T7 Shield, but I can’t afford to run two of those.

Would you trust the SanDisk in this kind of setup, or avoid entirely?

Any data wranglers ?

Are people still having data loss issues with the older SanDisk Extreme 2TB portable SSDs, or are they safe now?

I’m considering buying two for project, but I’m worried about liability if something fails. The safer option seems to be the Samsung T7 Shield, but it’s ~$570 usd where I am, so buying two for backup isn’t doable.

Would you trust the SanDisk for professional work with backups in place? Or avoid entirely?

Thanks
