I studied in Philippines and I faced 0% ragging, everyone minds their own business, you go to class attend lecture, attend exams, attend hospital duties. But here when I hear my friends story who studied in India, everyone has their own story of ragging either it is mediocre, severe or very severe level of ragging. In my college they maintain students profile record for every student. so, for every academic year you need to get clearance in that. If you get any black mark in that your life is hell. I know many students who tried to introduce ragging in my college, but their result is immediate rustication due to disciplinary action if caught with proper evidence. I made friends from few countries like Indian Singaporean NRI, Thailand and students from many countries of Africa also. One of the best days of my life. I can't vouch for other colleges in abroad but college where I studied is affiliated with famous hospitals of state so with daily opd cases 1000+ and admitted patient around 700 to 800, still they treated me good. I felt very small amount of racism but that's normal because that's their country and they give preference to their own nationality in workplace but not in public places, so nothing to take personal in that. But other than that, I still love the country where I studied, learned from residents and co interns' lot. This is just a sharing of my experience in abroad. If you guys have any doubts in abroad education system, ask me or you can share your experience in India/abroad so that we can know how life in medicine community around the world is. I still miss my classroom (image attached in post), internship days and college days.
Hey everyone 👋 I am the creator of MedRank website.
I've been preparing for exams and got frustrated with tracking my Marrow QBank progress in messy spreadsheets. So, I built a free web app to fix it for our medical community.

I’m a physician from Tamil Nadu, and over time I’ve started feeling deeply disconnected from the social and political environment here. Ideologically, I feel out of place. I value spirituality, nationalism, and the idea that Bharat should come first above religious appeasement or divisive identity politics. Lately, I feel like expressing spiritual beliefs openly is often mocked or degraded in the name of secularism, and it has made me increasingly uncomfortable living here. Economically too, the medical practice environment feels discouraging, consultation culture is poor, and despite years of hard work, the professional satisfaction is low. At this point, I genuinely feel I would rather earn less money but live peacefully in a place where I feel culturally and ideologically aligned with society around me.
I’m looking for suggestions from people across India:
Open to honest suggestions and experiences from others who moved away from their home state for similar reasons.
It was good time speaking with you guys during election time and I hope this new government will take proper action against law-and-order issue. Once again will miss you all and this subreddit 💖
