More specifically i dreamt I learned a secret crochet technique that allowed me to make things super fast, and finished said purple shirt in 2 hours.

In reality I spent 3 weeks making this and around $150 in yarn.

Yarns used were:

Malbrigo Arroyo in Eternidad, Whales Road, and Prussian Blue.

Bramble Ridge - Michelle

Estelle DK superwash - Dark Purple

Its the best project ive made so far and im proud of myself.

Project is "Something Beautiful Blouse" by I Need It Crochet on Raverly. Note I didnt follow it exactly as instructed and the sleeves and neck in paticular are different in the original pattern.

Took me 3 weeks to get to doing it after the show, been busy, but im glad I finally got it done. Pretty happy with how it turned out too, would have hated if this was a dud.

Anyone else tie dye their band merch? I did it with a LustSickPuppy shirt several months ago as well but I think this one came out better

So many little scraps, so many varying types of yarn, decorative items seemed like the best way to go about it.

Do not recommend trying to applique small letters on an already made shirt, its very annoying and you can tell I was giving up on the last two letters. I also put a hole in it when the machine jammed 💀. Flowery thing was done before to cover a left chest print (this was thrifted).

Very stoked to see them tonight with my gf after spending so long wondering if they were ever gonna play in canada again

Didnt use a pattern, had originally started following a YouTube video on linked DC, but found i just was not enjoying doing it, and switched to single post hdc a few rows in.

Made a rookie mistake of getting lazy about turn chains, which meant the shirts a lot wider than it needed to be in the lower half, but i still like it.

Used two cascade 220 Heather yarns, one Copperspoon Classic yarn, an Estelle Suds cotton yarn that I dyed (this is the purpley blue stripe 5 from the bottom), and a couple mystery yarns i obtained secondhand. All worsted weight.

Honestly despite it being semi flawed I still like it, and im proud of myself for finishing it, as someone's who is pretty guilty of abandoning longer term projects (in any medium of art, really 😅).

Absolutely LOVED the Copperspoon yarn (the red/green variegated stripes), which also happened to be the most expensive of the yarns, guess the project budgets going up in the future.

Did a burn test on a couple pieces of fluff coming off of it and it appears to be an acrylic/cotton blend. Was washed after taking this pic. I knew i had to get it as soon as I saw it

Honestly shocked this thing ripened at all given the state of the plant.

I did eat it and it was incredibly average

Pic 1 is the ball, tag on it isnt a brand tag, it's from the creative reuse store I bought it at and just says $3 on the other side. It was the only non synthetic yarn they had. Pic 2 is a very amateur square i did, top half is DROPS Superwash merino yarn.

Extra details:

Did a burn test, disintegrated relatively quickly, so definitely natural material.

The feel of it is very similar to the DROPS, which makes me think its also merino wool.

However the weight of it is noticeably heavier, closer to worsted cotton yarn I have.

Used a 4.5mm hook and SC to do the square, this seemed to be the right hook size as it worked pretty smoothly.

I am in Vancouver BC, so its most likely something relatively available in canada since it was donated.

I love finishing a project and actually feeling happy with the end result and not getting annoyed with all the obvious flaws.

My only regret with this one is not using a hemmed fabric to make the ruffles, but its not the end of the world.
