Got my offer accepted on a 1983 property listed with .5 acres. 2 days into the option period i discover that the listing is incorrect and city plat maps show it closer to .35 acres. Brought it up to my realtor and he said to wait for survey once the option period is over. I follow up and try to explain the issue but he is just not seeing it and i had to explain step by step. (Lot size was based off frontage and depth of property but lot is triangular) I still like the property and lot size but my 30k over asking offer was based on the large competition a listing of .5 acres would bring. 13 other offers on this property btw. I also waived appraisal as recommended by realtor as we are anticipating the lot size to easily cover the gap. Do i have a case to ask for a lower price or asking for additional credits? I will be paying for a survey.
