Date Night/Afternoon

Now that my kids are getting a little older I’d like to have an actual date with my husband. One still nurses to sleep so realistically we need to head for home by 6pm. I’d like to do craft beer with pizza. I want to be able to order a flight, bonus if there are different options for a flight. Any recommendations? Decent parking is required.

Complete Newbie

I’ve been wanting to get into spinning, but am 100% a newbie. All of the classes in my area want you to have your own wheel, even beginner classes. This just popped up on Marketplace in my area for only $20 and it’s a video of someone using the foot peddle to spin the wheel. The wheel squeaks. It looks intake to me, but is it actually functional? The $200+ price point to entry was my hold up before I had babies and now I don’t have time, but if I have the machine maybe the time will come. Or it’ll just sit unused in the basement for 10 years.

Lunchbox ideas

I pack my kids lunches for daycare and have been since they started. My older son has recently moved into the preschool classroom and has full access to his lunchbox for the first time. With this change I’m wondering if a bento box is a good idea?

My biggest hesitation is the cost. I pack lunches the night before so I’d have to buy 2 (per kid) or handwash, and adding extra chores to my evening sounds terrible and packing in the morning will not work for my family at all. We also need thermoses. Plus, if what I’m doing works, why change it?

Open to suggestions, ideas and feedback!

Ran out of yarn making matching Hexagon Sweaters and looking for opinions on what to do next.

Post was removed from r/crochet because apparently opinions searching counts as help. Hopefully I can get opinions or suggestions here!

I’m making hexagon sweaters. 2 that match for my brother and I. He gave me a ball of **Caron Anniversary Cake in colour Merry Maximus** because he thought it was hilarious, and I thought it would be equally funny to use it to make use sweaters and thought it would be enough. However, due to our size I needed 9 rounds instead of 8 and on the last hex I ran out! I’ve got about 2 rounds left.

Option 1: buy another ball, hard to find and expensive, don’t like this option

Option 2: buy a partial ball from someone with leftovers, preferred and I’ve posted on a popular Facebook group for my country (Canada) and r/yarnswap

Option 3: buy 2 solid balls that are the same colour as in Merry Maximus, totally willing to do this but before I make the long drive to my closest Michael’s, is it even a valid option?

Option 4: frog everything and do the last row that made me run out of yarn in a coordinating colour. I think I’d have to frog them all to get the colours to work out right for the last one, but I’d definitely look and be sure! Seems like a lot of extra work, but might be the best option?

What does everyone think? What would you do?

ISO: Caron Anniversary Cake Special Edition (Canada Only)

I thought I had enough yarn, and I don’t! There are other work arounds I can do but they’ll be so annoying and getting a bit more yarn would be easier. I wouldn’t need the full ball; less than half actually!

No bagged milk in Western Canada

I grew up using bagged milk and am finding the 4L jug very inconvenient. Does anyone have any things in your family that have worked to make it easier?

Edit: this seems to be mentioned a lot, I have recently stopped buying the 2L carton (actually my preferred milk container) due to the cost difference. Buying 4L of milk 3-4 times a month is a yearly savings of about $84. That’s an extra half a week of groceries or a decent meal out. Over the YEARS I expect to use this much milk (or more) it’ll add up.

First MYO card!

My MIL made a beautiful recording of a story for my son as part of a birthday present, but she can only figure out how to send it via facebook or text. Any idea how to save it??
