Interesting that BLQ decided on a crackpot frame-job for Willow with Lucy, rather than...

...asking her about any nice listings for a little family of three. Honestly, if that were my dumpster fire of a marriage and I were making last-ditch efforts to save it, relocation would be paramount. Willow may use her kids as little pawns to weasel her way around Chase while they're on the Q estate, but if the Chases are no longer living on the Q estate...Well, it's not a perfect solution, but will make it glaringly obvious (even to someone as oblivious as Chase) that Willow is on the prowl if she were to begin showing up on his non-Q doorstep.

The nanny, the big loving family...it's all great. And at this point, zero percent necessary for Phoebe's well-being. She's infant enough to only need and benefit from her parents right now. A year or so down the line, sure...being around more people and all that will be good for her, but now is the time for their family to be insular and really bond.

Are there any verifiable sources that Maurice Benard has creative control over casting?

I see comments and posts about GH mention MB constantly as "this is why So-And-So didn't re sign their contract/he's the reason Other Actor's scenes seem cut back/He intimidates and criticizes people backstage/He finds problem with actors who appear to be gaining equal or more popularity as his character." And on and on and on.

Is there a basis for this? Something that has been flat-out admitted or accused? I see these statements all the time but no one ever follows up if you ask. I have no doubt there is behind-the-scenes drama. Both Kelly Monaco and Charles Measure have both broadly mentioned that backstage can be not great, but AFAIK, neither of them have name-dropped anyone!

So where does the name dropping come from? Is it just one of those things that MB is one of the longest-standing cast members so irate fans simply assume he's the issue?

What on earth is going on with the app/S&G‽

Crashing like crazy, made me reset my password twice, keeps ending my session while I'm in the middle of stuff. IDK how I would have checked out last week or today if I didn't have an old-school card still. Member Services was kind but not helpful -- just said this has been happening a lot lately.

App is up to date. Phone is fine. Not sure what the issue is, but it's making me nuts.

How do I update my weight in the phone app?

App is up-to-date (checked that first). My weight tracking is no longer on the home screen or, as far as I can see, anywhere in the app. I'm not sure if it's an in-app widget that disappeared or if it's been moved somewhere, but I've been poking around in the app for about twenty minutes and still nothing. Appreciate any help!

Tensions are rising and I suspect abuse is on its way if not already here.

AP1 and AP2 only have a handful of years between them, but AP1 is significantly more advanced in the aging process than AP2 (no longer drives, housebound by choice, has stopped keeping up with/learning new things, no longer cooks or cleans for themselves, no longer sets their own appointments, etc.) which has AP2 in what I'd consider a caretaking role. This is not entirely new to their dynamic. Up until their '60s, AP1 cycled in and out of deep depressions; they also struggled with substance abuse and during that period of their life, they were emotionally, financially, and physically abusive to the family.

APs had powered through that by the time I went to college. How or what happened for that, I do not know. It may be that AP1 got sober and nothing was truly resolved, just buried; maybe they went to therapy and rebuilt the foundations that had been crumbling...all I know is that when the scholarship hit, I was OUT for a good while. I feel this may be important due to the shift I've noticed.

So, in present day, AP2 "runs the show" so to speak but has been showing obvious signs of burnout and frustration. I get it. AP1, when they choose to acknowledge that they aren't the only person in the world, is usually stubborn, and at best, a "Debbie Downer" to be around. I'd settle for a neutral personality; pleasant seems too far out of reach. So yeah, being immersed with someone like that day in and day out sounds horrible.

That said, all efforts to help shoulder the load for AP2 are consistently shut down, downplayed, or ignored. I've said countless times that there's no bad time to reach out. That never happens. The endless complaints and moaning about their situation is on a loop.

I visited them over the recent US holiday and was shocked at how they interact with one another and how AP2 speaks about AP1. There is clearly a TON of resentment on AP2's part and it's seeping out of every pore in their body. The things they said to and about AP1 are things I wouldn't tolerate from a stranger, let alone my spouse or anyone remotely closely to me.

AP2 won't join a support group and spends their time with their therapist complaining about whatever was on the news that morning. They don't bring up real life except to complain about generic things like not seeing the grandkids that much now that they're teenagers. Nothing about the day to day reality of life.

I just...don't see how this doesn't escalate from words to neglect or outright violence and I suspect that's coming sooner rather than later. I'd like to intervene before Something Big Happens, but have no idea where to start.

AIO by refusing to visit someone's home if they have a pest problem?

Extended family is flying into town this weekend to visit and are planning to stay with their parents, which is what will be "home base" for most of the gathering and activities while we all visit together.

I was helping the hosts clean in preparation, and in the course of doing so, I found roach detritus and...the smell was obvious. I grew up in poverty and roach motels my entire childhood; if you've smelt roaches you know it immediately. If you haven't, I pray you never do.

So, I told them immediately and they contacted a pest control company. Problem is, that was a month ago. They're being very cagey about any updates, only saying that the pest control is ongoing.

When we were talking today, I mentioned that "ongoing" isn't very reassuring, and could they give more details? According to them, pest control says things are progressing. More pressing garnered an admission that no, the roaches are not yet eradicated.

IDK what to do from here. This is revolting to me. I don't want to run ANY risk of bringing this problem to my own home. I also don't want to miss out on time with extended family, and there is a big part of me that feels they should be apprised of the situation so that they can choose a hotel or Vrbo instead. I had initially decided that I would not visit the home, but only join everyone for whatever outings they choose, but that is for sure going to raise questions with the visitors because it's always been a big ol' Brady Bunch situation in years prior.

Clock is ticking, and I'm torn. Thoughts?

Big miss re: Laura/Sidwell

No, I promise I'm not gonna suggest that they should have hooked up.

However, I think that it would have been great to have Sidwell pull some strings to get Nikolas released from prison, which would have been a far greater means of control than pictures of her and Sonny looking at a dead person. Same sort of angle that Brennan had with Nina: I can get him out, but I can ensure he goes right back in if you don't play it my way.

Obviously, it looks bad for Port Chuck's mayor to have a body in her trunk, but to make the stakes far more personal than just her reputation...to use one of her kids...that would have been brilliant and I would have loved to see the lengths to which Laura was pushed in that situation.

I know Lulu is preoccupied with Rocco, but she's not returning Isaiah's favor whatsoever.

Girlie-pop could temper the whole dang situation with Curtis-Jordan-Isaiah-Portia if she, you know, told her acting police commish ex-husband that it was Isaiah who rendered aid to Rocco the night of the accident. He saved Lucky's butt in Africa. They're sooo close they're practically family. He always has time for a house call for her.

But does she have time to tell her ex that this guy came in clutch? Nope, no she does not. Dude may never be able to work (in his chosen field) again, but let's keep quiet. Curtis is in (or was; I watch on a delay) jail over this. Portia is undoubtedly stressed which means her baby is stressed too...

But I'm sure Lulu has some sort of axe to grind elsewhere.

Should I "go along to get along" or chalk this up to "not my problem"?

I am what you'd call a girly-girl, at least in how I dress (dresses, stockings, hair styled, makeup done, etc.). The majority of my friends have a much more casual style (jeans/leggings, tees, hoodies, sneakers). When we all go out together, I stand out a bit.

That said, I am always dressed appropriately for the chosen activities; I've never had to sit out, leave early, or petition to change plans due to that.

Our crew has a friend's birthday party tonight, and the guest of honor's partner shot out a group text reminding us of time and location to meet, and at the end, a little note about how the place doesn't have a dress code, so just come as you are "and don't outshine the birthday girl."

That felt a little targeted to me, and like it's maybe a roundabout way of informing me in a general sense to dial back my usual choice. There's part of me that wants to shrug and say, sure, it's her birthday. I certainly have plenty of pants and other casual wear items, so this wouldn't be hard.

There's another part of me that finds this annoying. I've never gone over the top with anything to force my friends out of their comfort zone for how they like to dress. So IDK. I can have fun regardless of what I'm wearing, but again -- I'm not turning up in ballgowns or anything extreme -- it's truly just a difference in personal styles.

So, here I am, looking for some outside perspective.

ETA: This has been resolved. Thank you for your replies!
