Daycare waitlist woes

We just found out that the daycare our son as been in since he was 6m old (now 26m) is closing in August due to the town not renewing the lease for the building. It is an independent center thats been in the community for 35 years and understandably everyone is upset.

On top of that our now 11 week old was slated to start with her brother in January. We are now scrambling to find a spot for a 1 and 3 year old in a new center and we are finding it to be impossible (while still being able to afford it.) Our local university has an opening for our toddler but cant guarantee when our daughter could start but said priority enrollment goes to existing families.

My question is, has anyone managed 2 different day care drop offs? I'm wondering if switching our son in January when a spot opens would help ensure his sister could start there by Sept when our current center closes. However, I feel so guilty taking him out of a program he currently loves and adores and sending his sister in his place.

The only center who can guarantee a Sept start for both children is a national chain which is significantly more expensive but I'm wondering if the financial sacrifice is worth it to ensure they stay together.

For reference I work from home 4 days out of the week and would be the one managing the majority of pick ups and drop offs. My team is incredibly flexible and I typically log off by 4:30pm and both centers have a 5:30pm closing time and are 10 minutes from my house However in opposite directions.

Help!

Feeling abandoned by Grandparents

Two weeks ago I posted about our daughter measuring in the 3rd percentile in another group, and the possibility of an early induction per by OB. Luckily at our most recent growth scan, she moved up to the 5th percentile but my OB went ahead and scheduled me for a July 17th induction, at 38 weeks.

As soon as I heard, I called my parents both (73 and retired) to let them know my induction date and to double check that they can come and watch our son who will be 25m. My entire pregnancy this has been the plan. They will come stay at our house and watch Ollie and bring him to the hospital. I'm an only child and these are their only grandchildren, and this pregnancy has been incredibly stressful for me for a number of reasons.

As soon as I told them the date there was an awkward silence that felt a mile long so I half jokingly asked if there was a conflict (my parents are not social people) I was told that this was a bad day because my mom is DOG SITTING FOR HER OLD HAIRDRESSER. I have a rocky at best relationship with my mom and have been trying for the sake of our son to make it work. She was in and out of rehab during my childhood for severe alcoholism and was verbally abusive and as an adult I now realize my dad has enabled her. This hit me like a truck. My dad actually had the audacity to ask if I could reschedule since my mom booked this job a year out. They are retired but do not depend on this money to live.

This was a decision my doctor made based on whats best for my daughter. I haven't been able to talk to them and rushed off the phone lying I was going through a dead zone. Am I crazy? There are thousands of dog sitters in the world, but I only have one set of parents. I very rarely ask them for help, and they've known for weeks about a potential induction.

I broke down crying in the car after getting off the phone and my poor son in the back was asking Mamma mamma in the sweetest voice to cheer me up. I feel abandoned all over again. Thankfully my MIL immediately stepped up and said she would watch our son ( I didnt go into details). But its just unbelievable to me that my mom won't even consider telling her friend that she has to be there for me, instead of taking care of a fucking dog.

I uninvited them to visit for memorial day but it didnt seem to register to them. They genuinely think they didnt say anything wrong.

TLDR: my mom is chosing to dog sit vs. Watch her grandson while I'm induced. I'm not worth more to her then a dog.

IUGR Diagnosis at 28 weeks

A bit of a rant... Sorry for being all over the place. I'm currently 28w2d pregnant with my second and was told yesterday that baby girl is in the 3rd percentile and has offically been diagnosed with IUGR. Her head is measuring at 28w but her abdomen is about 2wks behind.

This is my second pregnancy, it and has been different in every way from my first. My son (23months) who is somehow turning 2 next month (!?!?!) was consistently in the 80% and was born at 39wks after my water broke and was born at 7lbs 7oz. I never had natural contractions and had to be on a pitcoin drip for 2 days which was HORRIFIC.

Baby girl was diagnosed with a pelvic kidney at our anatomy scan, which lead to an amniotesis, which lead to a discovery that she has a gene mutation inhereted from me (bc at this point why not) that impacts her heart. But nothing indicitating a reason for the pelvic kidney or small size.

After the anatomy scan we were referred for a fetal echocardioghram, and her heart looks perfect thank god. I am now meeting with a cardiologist and will need to recieve annual echos due to the discovery of the gene mutation. We tested our son, and he did not inherit this gene.

I am really struggling and each appoitment feels like more bad news. After having a smooth first pregnancy, I truly feel like I took it for granted, and being in the US Mother's day is tomorrow and I just feel like I'm failing. On top of that, I track all my cycle data in Natural Cycles and Oura and have from day one been telling my Doctor's I think that my due date is off and I should be due 8/5 vs. 7/30.

Side note: On top of all this, my son had RSV two weeks ago and was almost admitted to the hospital for dehydration, and I slipped and fell down the stairs with him rushing to get him water when he finally asked for it. Thank god both him and his sister are ok (I went in for fetal monitoring) but it was terrifying and my tailbone has been in so much pain since then. My Dr. is worried I may have fractured it but I obviously can't have an x-ray until after my daughter is borh.

The doctor I saw yesterday noted that if Baby girl's growth dips to the 2nd percentile they would reccomend admitting me until I am full tem and inducing at 37 weeks. With a toddler at home that thought is terrifying and I've never been away from my son for more than 2 nights. My husband is doing everything he can to support me, but it just feels so hard.

Thank you if you've read this far. I just don't know what else to do to help my baby girl.

When we got pregnant I had just gotten back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 105lb and I'm 5ft 2in. I Just feel like I'm failing her, and am so scared of unnecssary medical interventions. With my son I never had natural contractions and was on a pitocin drip for 2 days which was HELL.

Happy mothers day to all the moms, and I welcome any and all advice from fellow small baby moms.

TO BE CLEAR: I fully intend to listen to my doctors and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and healthy, including an induction - and am going in for weekly monitoring. I'm just sad.
