[US] my rent balance is $0 because manager quit and assistant isn’t posting the ledger

Update: I set up auto pay and I was immediately charged. Ok then.

Our manager quit and it’s only the assistant manager here. I think she forgot to post the ledger or something, I opened my Loft app to pay rent and it doesn’t show a balance. I did email her last month and the amount got posted, you would think she remembers now, but apparently not. In any case, I am not going to remind her again that she needs to do her job.

So I set up an auto payment in Loft app requiring to pay the balance on my account. If she doesn’t post the ledger, then I don’t owe anything and the payment isn’t triggered. I want to teach them a lesson, but I don’t want to get in trouble for paying late.

Should I risk it for the biscuit or no? Or should I just pay and let that overpayment sit in my account until she wakes up and does her job?

Initial eligibility interview

Update: it was short and friendly. There were several people/families and several workers processing their documents.
They only asked for paystubs and bank statements (plus ssn and id). I don’t know if she looked through the statements, she just asked for an extra statement and paystub (further back) which I did have. My understanding is that they are mostly focusing on background in general for now.

I have my interview tomorrow and have to bring a bank statement, I am nervous they’ll make me explain every transaction. Do they go over every transaction at intake or no? Like, as it happens I transferred my PayPal balance into checking that have been accumulating there forever from friends paying me back for lunches and things like that. Will they ask me for the PayPal statement as well once they see it? I have nothing to hide, I am not even using the benefits yet but this whole scrutiny is making me super anxious.

If I move from a regular unit to a PBV unit…

Do I need to show proof of moving out of that other regular unit? Or they don’t care since it’s not a voucher so there’s no double dipping?

SF Housing Authority Project Based Voucher, looking for insights

Does anyone here have a PBV from SFHA? Got an initial eligibility appointment for North Beach Place and looking for any info I can find on both the place and the intake process.

It’s on 400 block of Bay St., I am vaguely familiar with the area but looking for insights as to the general vibe as well, both of the complex and the area.

San Francisco PBV (North Beach)

Hi, I got an Initial Eligibility Appointment with SF housing authority for PBV, namely North Beach Place.

Does anyone know if it’s a good place to live? And how long from that appointment to being offered a unit? And what happens if I don’t like the unit or the complex?

Fashion major, anyone?

What is the gpa that’s required? Is anything else needed besides the application? And last but not least do you like it here?

CA: interview completed, worker said he had all the documents, how long to process recertification?

I thought it would happen right after the interview unless something was missing? But it’s been two days and the status is still “received”. Is this normal? Or does it mean they need more documents from me but didn’t get around to telling me?

CA: which exemption to use for Calfresh?

So I’m taking care of a family member thru IHSS and I have 46 hrs per month. What exemption should I use at my Calfresh renewal? That I am taking care of someone who is disabled (he is not on disability, just old), or that I am getting $217.50 a week? I am not sure how this is counted but I get about $470 twice a month.
Also I work more hrs than he is allotted because he is family but it’s not recorded anywhere.
Thank you for any advice!

[US] my Loft app balance is $0, do I pay or wait?

Our manager quit and it’s only the assistant manager here. I think she forgot to post the ledger or something, I opened my Loft app to pay rent and it doesn’t show a balance. I did email her asking if I should wait or pay but of course no response, I think she doesn’t realize what’s happening?

So do I pay or wait for the balance to post? I am not sure about late fees, I emailed her so that I am protected in case they try to hit me with late fees, and there’s a grace period until the 5th, and they aren’t really strict about it fwiw.

Is it realistic to find someone whose address I can use as mine?

I mean I wouldn’t live there but would have a lease (maybe, or they would be willing to confirm I live there) and I’d be able to get my mail? I don’t have friends in NYC who would do this for me, so I was wondering if there’s like a market for that?

NYC affordable housing

Not sure if NYC specific subs are a better place to ask but here’s the gist of my situation. I live in a LIHTC building in CA and my rent is under $1600 (no voucher). I would like to relocate to NYC. What kind of affordable housing is there? I know there’s a housing lottery but the units seem to be pretty expensive. Is there anything else that is reasonably attainable for an out of state person? Or should I start with establishing residence first?
But most importantly where do I start looking?
Thank you!
