The beginning of my collection!

The beginning of my collection!

I got one white P205, and now I finally got my GraphGear 1000 and a Kuru Toga Advance. My mom immediately took the Kuru Toga for herself, so that's gone lol, but I'm so happy with the GraphGear that I didn't much care.

Humble, I know. But it's mine!

Playing GTA6 on the cloud. Good strategy or hopeless dream?

I'll be getting a ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X in a month or 2, and that'll do my gaming for the next few years. It'll obviously not handle GTA6 well, so I was considering trying to play it on Cloud. I understand that we simply don't know how demanding the game will be yet, but could someone enlighten me whether or not that's a viable plan?

Which model is the right pick for me?

I'm mostly a casual gamer. The reason I'm interested in ROG Ally is the capability of playing through the entirety of my gaming library, which is divided between Epic, Steam and GOG. I'll be able to play my games wherever I go, and when I'm at home I can treat it as just another console. But the reason why I've been considering it is because I want to have something to play Elder Scrolls 6 when it finally comes out. I was planning on getting an Xbox anyway, but that'd be a little too limitation for the use I envisioned. ROG Ally solves that issue.

So... Do you guys think that I should go for the Xbox Ally base model or for the Z1 Extreme? I don't play many AAA games usually, but I'd like to be able to play the ones I do like on medium quality. I know we know nothing about Elder Scrolls 6, but I wouldn't mind playing it on low as long as I can play when it's released at 2030 or whenever Bethesda think it's time. Is this an actual plan or just wishful thinking? I'm located at the 3rd world, so it's not like I can buy something like this every year.

Is the discount still available for Kimi?

I've heard that we could get Kimi for dirt cheap if we asked the chat for a discount and convinced it to give a coupon. I tried it today but Kimi told me that isn't possible anymore, but I'm pretty sure I read on this sub people doing it this week. Am I confused? Or is this still a thing?

Books, movies, and docs about mechanical pencils?

I've found some cool shit on pencils and pens, and even on salt and toothpicks. But I barely see anything on mechanical pens, and from what I gathered it's got one hell of a history behind its evolution and importance. Do you guys know anything I might want to read? I'm just getting into the hobby for now, so all I want is a better grasp on important men and eras.

I'm currently trying to get Claude to write a history of sorts covering from the Borrowdale storm up until the very least P205's release. This isn't obviously going to be an academic work, since it's AI doing most of the heavy-lifting, but I don't think I got any better options currently. If anyone is interested in how that's going, send me a DM.

So... Any suggestions? Must-watch movies or docs that touch on mechanical pencils? I've been suggested to watch 1982's The Draughtsman Contract and 2013's Wind Rises because apparently it's focused on mechanical aspects of drawing, which I guess it's closer to what I want to see, though I'm no architect or engineer. I've also bought Petroski's The Pencil, but that won't be arriving until next month.

Any suggestions for an AI who'll be my producer/mixer?

I just need an AI to mix my music and make it sound professional. What I usually do is write my own lyrics and do them over YouTube Type Beats, which I then upload on Youtube to no one in particular. I can't really make them sound good on Bandlab, though, and I was looking for a program that will do its best to make sure my tracks sound as professional as possible.

What do you use Venice for, and does the "death of Grok" affect you?

I've been using Venice's free tier mostly for NSFW writing. I'm considering signing up for the Pro tier so it can better help me with my writing (I do Claude for the prose, Kimi and Gemini for editing the work, and used to do Grok for organizing smut). Will the "death of Grok" affect me negatively in that sense? Is it still worth paying the 20 dollars in my situation, and how are you being affected by what's going on?

I'm seeing lots of drama, so I made this post to try and focus the conversation a little more.

Anyone else toying with Kimi right now?

Kimi is a Chinese AI that's actually pretty good. Since right now I'm trying to come up with erotica instead of more usual fantasy, I ended up going there instead of the more usual Claude/Gemini/ChatGPT setup I've grown used to. It's great and I've had awesome results lately. Anyone else have tried it or are planning on trying it?
